Hey all! I got my boyfriend committed. To INSANITY that is :p
It's crazy like the name, but really, if you are committed and focused, and tell yourself you're going to do it, you WILL DO IT. The routines are simple, but challenging. They will for sure shaped and strengthen your body.

Now, my longtime CC buddy (MC) and I are going to start INSANITY together. We are not crazy, yet, just want to get back on track and stay fit. I posted the results in my journal (That was before I posted this thread).

We just started Day 1 - Fit Test today. Care to join and keep each other accountable? :)

I wanted to get Insanity but it's abit out of my price range- maybe once I get a job so I don't feel bad about spending my parent's money.  Heh.

Good luck, Insanity is awesome.  I am finishing week 4 now, recovery week next, then onto the really hard workouts.

My wife and I are doing it, its intense, but we love it.

Count me in!  I just got my package and am looking at starting the program on Monday.  I will need to make adjustments to the eating plan as I'm allergic to dairy and sensitive to wheat.  The hubby thinks I'm a bit nuts to want to do this program, however I've been looking to take it to the next level.  He's reviewed the program and has commented this is similar to what fitness competitors will do to prep.

So last night I did Day 1 (Plyo/Cardio) and in 41  minutes I burned 268 calories.
(I am only 4'9" so that is good for me :)
It kicked my butt, but I love it.

Hi  joanl21! Why not have hubby join in too? I got my boyfriend started on this one too and he is hooked! There is no sexism in INSANITY! ;)

Cardio Power and Resistance done! :D

(... I hate the Globe Jumps!!! ...)

Started recovery week (thank god), which is week 5.  It has been nice to get a new routine in the mix.

Phase 2 scares me from what I have seen of it.

Phase two is hard.  Very hard. But in a good way.  The first day of phase two I felt like I did the very first day of Insanity.  But now I am almost to the end of the second week and can really feel the improvement.

Hah! Recovery. yeah, right LOL I think it's as hard as the other workouts :) But it's good. A lot of stretching and I really need the training on my upper body (those planks and push ups...)

Got a chance to chat with Shaun this evening. And he admitted that Globe Jump is a B!t$h LOL Coming from the guy who designed the program itself! :D

Hubby has helped fitness competitors train and win.  Which is why he thinks I'm "ïnsane" to do the program as I have no desire to compete just get more fit and hopefully tighter and more defined.  (There's still a bit a of tire aaround the mid-section that I may never lose -  I will thank the kids for that!) At the moment he's recovering from knee surgery, so he's out of the loop althogether! LOL

@joanl21 - so, have you started? How are you doing? Sorry to hear about your husband's knee injury :( I busted mine long time ago, I know what a pain the **** it is. Not mentioning the time it needs to heal!

Hey, tire around the waist? Not that I have kids of my own, but I can attest from friends who are doing their fitness religiously and living a healthy lifestyle who have 2 even 7 kids! If you ever seen Turbo Jam DVD, there is this woman named Tony. I met her during Turbo Fire shooting. She has a wash-board-6-pack-kickass-abs and 7 kids: a set of twin, a single birth, and QUADRUPLETS! I can't imagine how much the tummy got stretched.... And then there is Kristy (met her at the shooting as well). Not as extreme as Tony, and she won Million Dollar Body contest with Beachbody. She is a fit mom. Tons of energy and had drastic transformation.

The way I see it, if you want it, you can get it. When and how you get it depends on how much you want it to happen.

So, let's get on with INSANITY! Laughing

Hi Sweet_Tart!

I'm getting close to complete as I'm in the second last week of the program!  Yeehaa as I've lasted this long and I broke 2 toes and have still managed to keep it going!

I've noticed a definite difference in the tummy.  It has become flatter.  This is something I didn't expect due to the kids and even genetics.  I used to pinch an inch, now only about half an inch and some days less.  The old saddlebags have tightened up considerably as well.  My legs have become smoother and/or tighter...less cellulite?  Hubby has noted that I've become quicker and more agile when manoeurving obstacles.

I know I have to do the program a few more times and will plan it out with (work) travel during 2010 so that I don't have any gaps.  I also have Turbo Jam and planned on doing that next and also getting my kids to do it with me.  (They are into their teens, so it can't hurt to teach them good habits...)

Thanks for the follow up! Smile

Oh yeah...one other thing and its a good one!  I have low blood pressure.  My numbers have increased a bit since starting the Insanity program so my cardiovascular system has seen a definite improvement!

I love (and hate:) Insanity! I have altered the schedule a bit--I'm only working out five days/week.  It's more realistic for me and my life style.  Today I am starting my week three (so end of week 2 of the actual schedule).  My parents visited this weekend and couldn't believe the difference in just two weeks.  My weight is the same, but my clothes are fitting looser.  My dad said that I "shrunk".  My hubby keeps making very positive comments as well.  My tummy is always my trouble area and it is going down.  I hope to continue to see great results--it's certainly motivating.  If you are in decent shape (and have good knees) I definitely recommend this workout!  I did P90X and definitely feel that this is harder.  I was able to purchase my DVDs from Amazon for $89.

Hey everyone trying INSANITY.  I would be really grateful if you would come back to this thread after two months to tell us all how it affected your fitness and strength.  I am always highly suspicious of these "buy my dvd/book and you will be fit in (insert crazy claim here) days!".  You all sound like you are having a great time with this one so naturally I am really curious to find out what happens later.

Please come back and keep us informed!

updates?

Still loving/hating Insanity.  I stuck with my 5-day/week schedule through most of the holidays (except for 4 days I was really sick). I'm back at it today and am proud to say that I managed to maintain my weight during the holidays!  That has never, ever happened to me before.  I always gain a good five pounds.  I was much more careful with food, but I still credit Insanity with my success.  I can't wait to see what will happen after the full 60 days.

sounds good!

I really wanted to do p90x, but as a student it is just not going to workout trying to get a chin up bar and weights, etc.

Insanity is all body weight right? I am in a weight lifting class 3 days a week at school (MWF) but I want more, the class is 50 minutes, at least 10 are spent logging.  Although I am starting with a new teacher and it may be different, I really need more.

So my question - is insanity all bodyweight work and I will not need any extra equipment right? thanks!!!

I have a gym membership ,but I use insanity when I don't want to go up to the gym or when there is snow or ice and I can't get there. I really enjoy it so far. I used to have nearly all of the tae bo dvd's and those seem like child's play after doing insanity!!

Elfwoo2,

Yes, Insanity is an all bodyweight workout that does not require any equipment.  It is by far the hardest workout I've ever done (and I've completed P90X, ran a half marathon).  I'm finishing the fourth week and seeing great results.  I highly recommend it.

Allergy Remedies
Is It Possible to Go Natural?
The side effects of allergy medications keep some people from using them. Natural remedies can be a great alternative, but some are more effective than others.
