Is anyone doing insanity? I'm dying to do it but I want to make sure it works fist.

Not great for weight loss, awesome for muscle gain! I did it and stayed the same weight while my body did change and gained muscle (I did actually gain about 1 lb in muscle). Be careful if you have weak joints though! It pounds your body to death
I love Insanity we do it for conditioning at the end of practice!!
I agree with Kelbrugler, I didn't lose much weight either when I did it but I did lose inches anyways. It is awesome for muscle, especially the abs!
I don't understand why people think they gained muscle on Insanity. I thought it was impossible to gain muscle with extreme cardio AND a calorie deficit. I just completed Insanity and ate a 500 calorie deficit every day to lose the final 10 pounds. I was able to lose all my baby weight and get to my goal weight of 125.
Insanity WILL work. Just push hard and eat well. You won't regret it!
Did you only eat 500 calories a day? I'm trying to lose 10 to 15 pounds and just started insanity. I haven't seen any results yet but I am keeping my calories down to 1200 a day.
A 500 calorie deficit, definitely eat way more than 500 calories! In fact, with the intensity of Insanity, 1200 calories won't be enough for you to feel energized and get the nutrients you need. 1200 is a base minimum for just about everyone, so you need to consume the calories you lose with your workout if you're eating this much. This means probably more like eating 1600-2200 calories a day with insanity, depending on your height, weight, and your intensity that you do.
Yeah, I ate 1600-2000 a day depending on which workout I did. (I ate pretty much 1600 in month one, and then 2000 in month two). I'm 5'3" and went from 135 to 125. :)
Insanity is hard. But it works!!! I have 65 lbs to lose and I'm still losing with Insanity, just slower. What I am seeing though is crazy results in my body. I took before and after pictures and my 30 day results are incredible. I can see my abs for the first time in my LIFE!!!
You cannot do Insanity and only eat 1200 calories. You will not lose weight. Your body will store all the fat like its starving and you will be working your butt off for nothing. I eat 1800-1900 a day and I am still losing. (31 yr old F).
It's hard. The WARM up makes Jillian Michaels videos look like a box of kittens.
:) but the 15 inches I've lost in 4 weeks tells me it's worth it.

im on day 5 of week 1. its bananas!!! but i love it. i have 20 pounds to hit my goal weight plus i do zumba at night and yoga. wish you the best of luck!

I just got the tape two weeks ago. The video in very challenging. In about 60 day's I'll let you know if I lose weight.

I just finished my first week of insanity I Luv it :) my husband and I do it together. I must say I have done Zumba and taebo before starting this. These workouts are amazing and fun. Insanity is intense pushes your body to it's breaking point, and works every muscle in your body I am hoping for great results. I say try it !!
I completed insanity two months ago and i lost 14 lbs so yes it do work if ur committed
I'm on my second set of Insanity and I love it! Started at 270! Yes 270! And down to 208! I ate well and followed the program. It's definitely hard and I haven't seen muscle gain but I am leaner and my body looks better! I have about another 60lbs to go and once this set is done, will move on to P90x

I really want to try Insanity but I've read about injuries doing this program and I'm just afraid of that. I know you run risks with any exercise you do. Can someone please tell me, in their opinion can you really hurt yourself doing the routines or is the risk like any other exercise program? Thanks
DrChimino: If you do it right, the likelihood of risk is minimal. But like any other workout, be careful, proper wear, proper technique.
I'm starting Insanity next week - just borrowed the DVDs from a friend, now I'm waiting until I'm done with all the studying for the exams...
I'm not looking to lose weight though, I'm currently maintaining at 117-118lbs (5'3), I'd just like to be a little bit more in shape...
A couple of friends have done it and had pretty good results...
I'm in 5 th week getting ready to start Phase 2. What's crazy is I lost 5 pounds first 2 weeks then I've plateau'd last 3 weeks. I'm always plateau'ing so it's not a big deal for me... Every 10 pounds is a damn plateau. I'm hoping Phase 2 will shake it up for me. The reason why I love it? I have never felt better. My skin is clearer, my body feels refreshed, I sleep better, I'm less stressed. The only con is I'm hungry all the time!!! Have to eat every 2-3 hours or I get crazy lol
Just started insanity yesterday! It's nice to read all of your accomplishments throughout your experiences :) i can't wait to see how my body transforms! And even if I can't lose too much weight what's important is that I don't jiggle anymore lol. good luck! :)
Don't listen to people who say its for muscle gain! Is high cardio , which will help loss weight fast ! Please continue the program it works and you love the change not only in you appearance but in you physical state! I personal do 1 insanity workout with p90x abs a day! Seen nice impediment but haven't gain much muscle ain't that funny ! ;p not really... Keep it up
The only way you will injure yourself is if you don't pay attention to your form, that is the most important thing. Keep your form.
