Hello Ladies and Gentlemen!
I recently got my own lovely copy of Shaun T's Insanity workout; I finished day 4 today, doing the recovery cardio workout, and I was wondering if there's anyone else on CC doing the program right now, sort of looking for some workout buddies to communicate with.
For stats, I'm 23, female, currently 145 lbs at 5'7" with a 28" waist; I'm not looking to really change the number on the scale, just to increase my cardio fitness, increase muscle stamina and, if it works out that way, shave off a few inches all around.
I am doing it too. Today I am on Day 6 :) Tomorrow is my 'rest' day but I think I'll do something anyway. I've noticed since starting the plan and nutrition plan my energy level has really gone through the roof!
I have a lot of weight to lose and some of the moves I need to modify but I am really enjoying pushing myself and keeping up the pace with those in the video even if I have to do push-ups on my knees, and can't jump as high, that sort of thing.
I have completed 3 cycles of Insanity and love it! It is great for toning your body and just overall tightening! As well as cardio. Keep it up - you will be so glad you did!
@jafz: I would highly recommend if tomorrow is a rest day to rest. This is your first week and the workouts will get more intense and your body truly needs the rest. Especially when you get into Month 2. Enjoy your day off - you have earned it!
I'm unfortunately in the situation where I can't switch my meal plans to the one recommended for the Insanity workout, due to having far too many sensitivities - but after looking it over, my current diet seems to fit in the guidelines.
Fruit, veggies, fish, and the occasional poultry - so I don't believe my results will be heavily impacted by not being able to follow the given diet plan.
Long day of work ahead of me, I'll be doing the Pure Cardio once I get home; wish me luck. :)
Hi, I just finished week 4 and am starting recovery week tomorrow. During the first month I dropped 2kg(5lbs), 5cm off my stomach and 2cm off each thigh. I have been on a plateu since january amd I'm thrilled. So I'd say stick with it and you'll get results. I am not following their diet but I stick to 1550calories a day.
I just got both the Turbo Fire and the Insanity. I have done Hip Hop Abs & Turbo Jam for years, so I thought I would bump it up a notch. I tried a few of the workouts from each. I decided I am going to do the 90 days of Turbo Fire first then the Insanity. I am in great cardio shape, and OMG the Insanity was HARD!! Keep us updated on how you are doing....
I'm doing Insanity! I'm on day 19. It's been going so good so far! Lately I've been slacking on the eating, just the past few days. But my results have been great so far and I am getting back on track starting today! Today's workout is Cardio Power & Resistance, it's my favorite! How have your results been going so far?
Cardio Power and Resistance is my favorite too! Today was day 9 for me so today was Pure Cardio. It's killer but once you get into it you feel soo powerful. So far I am down about 6 lbs, but I have alot of weight to lose. I am eating about 2000 calories a day. Some days I don't get that much in, but I try.
Unfortunately I just had emergency surgery done on my feet, so it turns out it's going to be a couple of days before I can be back on them. I'm going to sort of re-do week 2 and go from there. :(
I am starting Insanity tonight! I have done it before but it has been about a year so I am really excited about it. I really want to tone and need a routine so this should be great!
I started insanity a week ago...I love it it's exactly what I've been looking for!!!
Has anyone seen results yet?
I still plan on incorporating weight lifting into my weekly routine on top of doing insanity...I think this is a workout program i will be hooked on!
Holy crap. I just started! Did the fit test last night and the first workout today. I couldn't even do all the stretches! Ha ha! My muscles feel it already and I thought I was in decent shape before I started.
How's everyone else doing?
I am startign week two tonight... I was sore after my first day...but it goes away.
I lost one pound last week after a month of plateauing and working out non stop..so iwould say it's working!
I've been doing it since April. I followed the diet plan for month one but got pretty frustrated during the recovery week. I haven't lost much weight, approx. 1lb/week. Which I know is the norm, but not very motivating considering how hard you work with Insanity! I have lost inches though and my clothes fit much better. I'm in week 7 right now, so two weeks left.
Months two is so much harder than month one, but so much better. I feel like the work outs are more effective. Still I wish the weight came off faster!
If I'd have to give anyone considering Insanity advice, I'd say don't expect much in the realm of weightloss, but your endurance and strength will definitely improve! And you will gain tons of muscle and definition, which in the long run will help you lose more weight. Even though I don't look like I did in high school, I feel like it!
Make sure you eat too. Insanity is NOT for the low calorie dieter. You need the food to survive and if you don't eat enough, you won't lose weight. I consume 1900 per day. In the beginning it was 1600 and the weight wasn't moving AT ALL. Once I upped calories it started to come off. The 1lb/week did not happen consecutively. Most of it happened since the beginning of Month two.
If you have the elite nutrition book, check out the calorie calculations. It'll tell you exactly how much you need to eat to do Insanity. No more, no less.
Oh man I'm on week 2 and ecstatic about losing two pounds! hahaha
so ya it is working out to be 1 lb a week so far for me..but i have been on a plateau for like 3 months stuck at the same weight so that's why I guess I'm so pumped.
I am not following the meal plan, but i do normally eat healthy and clean and I probably eat between 1300-1600 calories a day depending on what I'm up to.
