Wow, I can't believe this is month #5!!
Once, again here is a place to state your fitness goals for the month of August. Let's run, hike, bike, swim, and walk to make this our fittest month yet!
Personal goals:
- I have upped my goal to running 110 miles this month!
- Get back into the 116-117 pound weight range before the month is over (that is about 7 pounds in 31 days! wish me luck!)
- Get my old abs back!
I cannot wait to get this month started! What are everyone's goals for the glorious month of August?

My brother is an Ironman triathlete and my mom is a marathon runner (she's done 25+ marathons and is still going strong at 63 yrs old), so I'll have some some positive peer pressure going on. :)
Holy cow! Most definitely inspiring!
I ran another 3.7 so...
17.3/110
Mid-afternoon 10k+. Nice out. A bit on the warm side, but not humid enough to be miserable.

14 miles last night and then another 5.1 miles today with my husband. Phew!
36.4/110 running miles for August!
Didn't do as much as I wanted over the weekend, so going to make up for it this week. All of my running/cycling so far has been done in-doors. The weather is just so bad.
Running update: 9/50 km
Cycling update: 20/200 km
total: 33.25 miles... trying to get in as many miles in before I go to the beach later this week :)
I want in!
I'm doing the Hal Higdon novice plan for the Disney Wine and Dine half in October so that has me running 54.5 miles in August. I'm on week 6 and so far I've only missed one run which I made up for later in the week.
So so far:
12/54.5 (just one week of running)
Pretty good for someone who couldn't run a mile a year ago.

Don't you hate that? It's taken me a year to get to a sub 10 minute pace. My fastest ever has been a 9:29 mile.
It took my fiance 3 weeks of running to beat me. Granted, he passed out on the floor immediately after while I was just warming up for another 2 miles but that's another story.
Mon. Aug 8: 6.5 miles, trails and dirt road. 450 ft gained.
total: 31/110 miles, and 2,510/15,000 ft gained.
Did just over seven miles today.
29.3 miles for August.
Some of you who are approaching 40 miles (or more) already amaze me! I thought I was running a lot! Keep up the awesome work everyone!
The side effects of allergy medications keep some people from using them. Natural remedies can be a great alternative, but some are more effective than others.
