OK, CC-ers!  Your mission, if you choose to accept it, is ... To help the newly-created CC World Runners Club run around the world!

Every day that you run, whether it's 1 mile on the treadmill or the Boston Marathon, report in via a PM or a post (but not both!!!!).  If you count it as a run, so do we, but try not to include straight walking warmups/cooldowns (jogging counts, though). 

You may send your miles (or kilometers) in daily or weekly.  Updates will be done weekly as of Tuesday 11:59 PM.  Miles will be added up from Wednesday through Tuesday for our weekly totals. 

YOU CAN CONTRIBUTE MILES AT ANY TIME!  Even if you only contribute one mile, once, we'll still welcome it, so don't be shy!  As long as it's run during the week we are working on, it counts.

We will start the run at the Southernmost tip of South America, in Tierra del Fuego, Argentina.  We will end the run in Capetown, South Africa, at the ocean. 

Start date of the run:  August 1, 2007, 12:00 midnight. 

Let's see how fast we can do this!!!  Please post here if you want to join and contribute your mileage!  We welcome any help we can get!

Our next challenge:  - Getting from Santa Cruz, Bolivia, through Peru and to Ecuador, then to Colombia

2.3 miles for me today!

Will try 10 miles within a day or 2.
Good morning!  Please add another 8 miles for me from last night (Tues night). 

That completes my first week.  (We are factoring weeks from Wed-Tuesday, correct?)  I think after this I may post weekly totals every Tuesday instead of daily.  But I get so excited when I get on this thread every day!

I think 500 mile goals are better!  I like longer goals, they give me more of a sense of accomplishment when I finish them.

This is so much fun!!  It's so motivating to keep running when you know you are travelling the world :)

sorry, I forgot  I did 23 miles first week
OK, I'm calling Week 1!

Total Miles:  451.96
# of Runners:  41
Average MPR:  11.02 (miles per runner)
Most Miles:  28 (Congrats aezell1)

That means we ran from the tip of Tierra del Fuego, Argentina, to Tolhuin, Argentina, up into Chile to Punta Arenas, billed as "the world's southernmost city", and now we're back in Argentina heading for Gobernador Gregorio, Argentina.  We'll be in Argentina for a little while, as it's a long, long, skinny country! :)

Good job, one and all!!  Keep on running, and posting, and remember - weeks run from Wednesday to Tuesday (Tuesday midnight your time is the cutoff for the start of the next week).
Did 2 miles today. I huffed and puffed, but didn't blow the house down as I didn't have enough air left to do so. :D
I ran 6.1 Monday and 7 miles today. Total 13.1 miles

It's starting to look like even 500 miles goals may be too little for each week!  But that's where I'll start (or approximate).

jenka - yes, Tuesday midnight is the cutoff for the start of the new week.  Posting weekly is fine, if you can stand to see your "0.00" 'til the end! :)  It's not any more difficult for me to do it daily, so don't worry about that.

fitnessfreak - yes, it is fun to see the numbers change!  'Though it seems you need little motivation to keep on running!  Good numbers last week.

yoyonomo - thanks for the mileage!  Once a week is fine, and I'll remind you if I don't see any posts.

steelslady - Good job on your increasing mileage!  Don't push too fast; you want to avoid injury - especially as you're getting started.
So Tuesday the 14th is that the cutoff for week 2?  I didn't know if I should submit everytime I run or wait until the end.  Alright I shall start posting the mileage.
Last night I did 3.2 miles.

zarelha: Well, heck, it really is hard to see my weekly number stay at zero for a full week! I was trying to make it easier on you, but for motivation it's nice to see the total creep up.

hi everyone, it is hard not to post everday :-) well today 5.19.

ACK I COMPLETELY FORGOT ABOUT THIS AND HAVEN'T POSTED MILES!

Well, if I can still post for last week, I ran a total of 9.3 miles. So far this week I've run 3.1
