I just started my first day of Insanity today. Wow. I didn't do TOO shabby on the exercises, but I did have to stop a lot and didn't do as many as the two people did on their first day, but I did better than expected. I'm really not in that bad of shape, but I do have some lbs to drop. I want to be able to keep up better with the videos and so I considered also throwing the gym in a few days a week. Is this a good idea or is it too much?
Why not just try the program as it was intended and see how that works for you?
Adding more workouts isn't necessarily going to prep you to do Insanity any better -- it's just going to use MORE energy. Think about it.
I am on week 2 of month 1 but I only do the DVDs Mon. thru Friday and take the weekend off but usually add some type of exercise. I would say that the extra gym time might be too much but ok as long as you are eating enough. First time I did Insanity, I cut my calories too much and did not have great results, plus I did not finish, haha. This time I am eating at least 1700 or more. For me the big thing is to make sure I am eating enough or my body goes into starvation mode. Best of luck and dig deep!
Hi i have done 3 rounds of insanity and i would say if this is your first time doing it stick to it six days a week, sore , tired, sick or whatever and i promise you will get amazing results.. I am doing P90X/Insanity hybrid but this is because i needed to up it for myself as i have done insanity before,, if you have any questions feel free to message me..:D
It depends on your body and how you feel. It's not too much if you eat enough, if you are in good shape to keep up with more exercising and you feel well also rest enough.
However, if you do go to gym, next day you do Insanity you may have less energy which will affect how you do it - slower pace, less repetitions, more breaks and so on..
Try doing only Insanity for couple weeks and see how you feel.
