I have lost 38 lbs. on Weight Watchers and would like to lose about 12 more. I'd also like to tone and firm and reduce my body fat percentage. I know I need to exercise but I HATE it. I already get up at 6:30 for work and don't get home until 5:30-6:00 pm. I have a stressful job and am usually exhausted when I get home. After doing daily home chores and making dinner all I want to do is spend a little time with my husband and relax. We go to bed around 9:00 pm so it seems like there's never enough time in the day to do the things I really have to do.
I also hate getting all sweaty and don't want to have to take another shower after exercising. I have a treadmill and exercise videos but just don't have the energy or motivation to use them.
Any suggestions on how to get motivated or to find the time in an already packed day to get some exercise? Would something as little as 20 minutes a day really make any kind of difference?

Its hard but if you really want it you will find the time, i kick my fience out of the room because we live wth other people and the livingroom is not an option. its hard to get up and move when you have someone who only lays around watching TV after work every day, but it can be done.
One thing that helped me was to just get it out of the way as soon as i knew i had a spare 20-30 min i jumped on it. I hate taking that extra shower too but you know what, i love the way my body is responding to excercise :) I also have a calendar with my cardio and tone days on it, this is very motivational i can see all those days adding up to months. I Took a before picture in a bikini too (yuck!) check out bodybuilders.com i get my motivation from before and after pic's, they have the best ones, look under body changers.
Bottom line is you gotta want it enough then all the motivation and time will be at your fingertips. i just started working out about a month ago, i also lost weight on weight watchers 70 pounds, i started because my body was missing something i needed to tone up and lose more body fat, when you have diet'ed all you can your body needs something els. And of course 20 min will make a difference just try it, try using weights this will give you the fastest results ever!
Congrats on your lost weight, dont give up on this you can do it, every day you do the stronger you will get and the more you will look forward to it. If you ever need motivation send me a message.

Thanks Cindy,
I guess I get discouraged sometimes when I hear how other people work out for hours everyday at the gym, doing classes and using machines. I used to belong to a gym but it was so crowded after work that I hated having to wait to work out.
I would prefer to work out at home but once I do get home I make excuses not to do anything. It's also hard to do strength training at home without a lot of extra equipment. I do have some 5 lb. hand weights and just bought some new toning videos so maybe I'll give them a try. I know what you mean about your body missing something. I look okay in clothes but there's a lot of room for firming and toning.
If I felt like I was actually getting some benefit from only 20-30 minutes everyday I think I would feel more like exercising. I think I have it in my head that unless I work out at a gym for at least an hour I'm not getting any benefit.
Thanks again for the encouragment!
