New Favorite Lifts
Recently, I started expanding my lifting repertoire, and I have found some new favorites.
- Bulgarian Split Squats-I walked slower than my mother after doing these on Sunday. She was making fun of me.
- Weighted Hip Thrusts-I always feel silly doing these in the gym, especially when I struggle to get out from under the bar.
- Kettlebell swings-I just think they're fun.
What are your faves?
Clean and press!!! I feel like a total badass, especially when I do it with the bumper plates at my school gym (since they are physically bigger). I just learned the jerk, so I can't wait to do those weighted too. You almost never see anyone doing those in my gyms.
Any of the big three.
And one day I hope to rep out pullups. I'm getting closer. Chicks doing pullups amaze me.
I love kettlebell swings, also
other favorites: turkish get-ups, dumbbell snatches, Wide-grip deadlifts, overhead squats.
I have a love-hate with Bulgarian Split Squats
I forgot - Single leg db squats on the plyobench.

I'm missing the "off loaded" lifts from NROL4Abs, like the partial bench- only shoulders on the bench and db lifting opposite arms - and the farmer walks with one weight 10 lbs heavier than the other and the lighter one held overhead! I miss the crazy looks I'd get but loved the ab look after!
I also miss the barbell complexes from FBB and I think NROL4Abs had them too. I know I could still do them, but I'm following the routine as written.
The BSS with overhead press are even worse. I can't remember now which program has them - one of the Fat Loss doodads from NROL I think.
Turkish get ups are fun. I work out at home and haven't bought a kettlebell yet. I've eyed them but don't want to spend the bucks yet and I've just been doing dumbbell swings.

I think it was a strength program from NROL- original. Yes, I never did the OH press thing with them- it's hard enough just doing a BSS- IN the Female Body Breakthrough the BSS had a deadlift added to it- that is the way I do them now -it's harder but works the butt more I think
One-legged bosu-ball push-ups.
Definitely harder than I thought it'd be, but totally made me feel like a b@dass when I was done! ![]()
Front squat
I have really bad shoulder mobility and I notice it a lot when I back squat, I tried a front squat = amazing :)
Deadlifts.. except I hurt my lower back doing them so I don't DL anymore.
So Squats, closely followed by bench press
Lately i've been doing a lot of goblet lunges, goblet side lunges and goblet squats. Really hard on the core.
Also the single-arm barbell press and battling rope rows (pulling a stack of plates).
