Is the "Perfect Body possible?
Hey Guys,
I'm Pistol, a teen trying to lose weight. I've been struggling with my weight loss for the past 2 years (on and off) and now at 125 pounds (57 kg). I'm wanting to lose a bit more, as I have a high body fat percentage, but I'm also wanting to gain muscle. I was wondering if you guys had some day to day diet tips for lose last ten pounds, and some ideas on how to get that "perky" butt and thin waist line. I used to be in very good shape when I was younger but now I have no muscle and a lot of fat. Any tips, support, workout plans, or diets would be greatly appreciated.

Mentally... Yes
The reason I say this is because there will always be someone skinnier taller and prettier than you it's a fact. There are billions of people on this planet and each one has a different standard of the elusive perfect. Take me for example my measurements are 38-29-38 and some people love them but I think there a bit much since I like looking athletic with muscle definition. From you pic u seem very pretty just relax oh and get into running works miracles!
Thanks Brandi. I'm wanting to tone up quite a bit. I would love to go running but a gym is too expensive and my neighborhood isn't every safe. Are there any at home workout you could suggest? I'm not so worried about the numbers on the scale but I would like to bring my body fat percentage down and increase my muscle tone. Thanks a bunch -Pistol
Hi, if that profile picture is you, then I can't see an ounce of fat anywhere! What height and age are you?
A stationary bike is quite good exercise!
Hey Mrs.Wilson,
I'm 16, and 5'7. I know that I'm at a heathy BMI but my body fat ratio is rather high, I'm what many call "skinny fat" meaning I look thin but am not very healthy. MY goals are to tone up and increase my physical fitness. Any tips?

We all have goals and lots are vanity, just make sure you are not chasing someone else's body or a fantasy body.
I think I have a pretty perfect bod, at least in my mind (vain? hell yes). I've been doing these vids for about 2 years now, as well as eating relatively balanced meals and lifting heavy weights. I didn't get into weight lifting till this year, but it really does make a difference. If you don't have weights then body weight resistance exercises (like in the links I posted) will at least firm you up and cut down on the jiggle. I don't bother with cardio, AT ALL, I find it counterproductive to what I'm trying to achieve (a lean muscular physique). The only 'cardio' I do get is from slight HIIT/metabolic conditioning (i.e. circuit training).

Very well said :)
Thanks! These videos are great! :)

I really wouldn't recommend losing any weight - it is worrying that at 16 you have already been trying to lose weight for 2 years... I would concentrate on toning up. If your neighbourhood isn't safe, then a stationary cycle might help, or lots of the women on teh fitness forum are into weight lifting (not as gruesome as it sounds!), which help build muscle without losing weight. Truly, if that is your picture, you do not need to lose, and since you are still growing and developing, you will probably naturally gain a little more in the next 5 years or so.
Your current weight is about 'perfect' I'd say!! Believe me, after years of ED and 3 pregnancies, I gave up on 'perfection' long since, but the trick is to be happy with what you have, not always want to be/have something else.
i think what you are referring to are the "vanity pounds" i think most women chase after them but is it really necessary??? I can tell that through my 20's i chased them non stop but now that I 31 I am happy that I have been so consistant in my diet and exercise that I have maintained the same weight for almost 2 years instead of yo yo'ing up and down.
I've gotten more into weighlifting realizing that I was doing cardio overkill and i was skinny fat and now I have muscles in all the right places do I think my body could improve??? yes I'd like to improve and reduce my body fat still but at what cost?
Long story short...don't focus so much on the scale if you want more body definition starting living and watch your body change...you don't need to lose weight to change the way you look...you're already skinny just change the way you exercise.
I think a healthy, fit, properly function body is perfect.
I wouldn't find it worrying, I'm just trying to make sure that I'm healthy and have a healthy life style. I'm not so worried about the scale but I do want a body that I'm proud to flaunt at the beach or party. There are many girls that have wonderful bodies and I would like to be one of them, but I'd like to get there via health methods. I'll take your advise and start some weight training as it would increase my muscle tone.
Does anyone know if running on the spot is worth while?
If you want to gain muscle and lose fat, running in place won't accomplish that for you.
You need to lift heavy weights and eat at least maintenance calories and possibly a bit more (in order to gain muscle). Here is a calorie needs calculator for teens (Calorie Count's aren't for those under 21).
You should also get the okay from your doctor. With a BMI of 19.6, you can't lose much more weight without dropping into the "underweight" category.

I agree with what your saying. I'm just wanting to get fit and look great hah. Like girls like these girls. I don't want to starve myself but I know having a body like this will boost my moral.

Most of the girls in those pictures you link to don't look healthy in any way. Many of them look like they are either very young and still filling out and growing, or they are underweight and look unhealthy, scrawny and in my eye unfeminine.

Each to our own I guess. They girls posted are younger but they are fit and healthy. Everyone has different ideas, and they vary with generation, current weight, where you live, and so forth. Imho I feel most of the girls have the bodies that most women and men would like. Thought it isn't always achievable because of genetics but I feel everyone has the chance to get health, be fit, and increase their self confidence by achieving the body they would like.
I'm weighing in on the weight lifting side. Still working on that last few lbs myself and have found that lifting heavy weights (relatively) is doing the most for my shape. I do some cardio DVD's a couple times a week as well. I am doing New Rules of Lifting for Women. Depending on what equip you have, this can be done at home fairly easily. I also agree that weight loss should not be your goal, body composition is where you need to focus. :)
The problem with this blog was up until recently, this would be considered "thinspiration", and it was mostly girls with eating disorders patting each other on the back. Tumblr passed new rules about thinspo blogs and started deleting and blocking Tumblr's that used certain ana keywords and now to get around those, everyone has started using keywords like "healthy bodies" and posting images with inspirational quotes about being "healthy" and "fit". It's all the same thing just packaged differently.
Yes, there are naturally skinny girls, and yes, you're still young and you are constantly around girls whose bodies have not filled out yet so if yours has it may not seem to fit some ideal, but a lot of the images on that blog are not realistic once you are past a certain age or if you are eating and exercising in a healthy manner.
However, if you're looking to tone up and can't afford a gym membership and don't want to run, pillates and yoga are excellent choices and there is endless access to free videos on the internet.
