Hello,
Well I just turned 48 this past December and have been in the Gym
on and off over the years. Cardio, Cardio, Cardio.!!Not much lifting alot of Areobic, and Bodyworks classes. Pecore, Cycleing That kind of stuff.
Anyway I just Bought the P90x system and am afraid I will not be able to
do this workout. I want to loose 15lbs at least. My biggest problem is Eating, I own my own business and work all the time. I get up do to the Gym come home work all day and then remember to eat at about 3pm after three cups of coffee. Sound Familiar. HELP.
Will this really work for someone like me??
Oh by the way did I say I was married to an xBody Builder? He hates my Eating habits!! or none Eating Habits. I need advice.
Patrice
Today was my second day of p90x and I am sore. I'm 26yrs old and tired of being over weight and i'm also very much out of shape. I'll admit its a very challenging workout and you have to be dedicated. I wasn't able to complete all of the moves and reps but I tried my best. Of course you can do it you just need to push yourself also it does help to pick better choices in foods and make sure your getting enough nutrition to have energy to get through the intense workouts. The calorie counter is such a great tool and the nutrition guide helps you know what types of foods you should be eating. Good luck to you on your journey you can do it!
Today is my second day as well. I havent done the workout yet but i am definitely sore from yesterday's workout!
A woman can do any workout a man can do. Unless it involves penis exercises I guess. Just modify it for your fitness/strength level! ![]()
Hey everyone-
I joined this thread for some motivation. I just started P90X and I am on week 2 day one today. I am really excited to see how much my body changes throughout this process. I have been doing really good...I have been following the eating plan exactly (only difference is that I am vegetarian, so I get my protien from shakes, tofu, blah, blah, etc.) I do skip the Yoga routine because the day it falls on is a day that I teach yoga to others (I'm a yoga instructor).
How is everyone's progress so far?
I will say week two is a bit easier than week one!
Good Sunday morning!
I am 45, have always been active, but need to lose a few (or more) pounds..started P90X on December 28th, and am absolutely loving it! I'm following the lean plan, although on Cardio X day, i do PLyometrics, because the cardio is just not enough for me...and i understand about the struggle with yoga..i do it faithfully, but my flexibility really really SUCKS!! I do it though because i do know how very important it is for women, and i feel good about accomplishing it afterwards. I am slowly losing, but i AM losing, so i am happy i guess..my diet is covered, not a problem there, so we just have to keep working and watching the benefits unfold, but i would sure love to be able to do this with a friend...unfortunately, i have no friends that workout...pretty sad eh?
HI,
I just got P90X an I am 36...I have been jogging as my main exercise for the last year, with some swimming and horse riding...I hope to get better resistance training.
I hope to lose 10-12# as well. I am going to do the lean program first.
Are you all using the bands or free weights?
Namaste 17, I am a vegetarian as well and would love your thoughts on this. ..
I am on week 5 of P90X. I was having problems eating all that protein in the first 30 days (one, because I'm not used to eating that way and two, just blech). Also, in the first week I lost about a pound but since then I have been steadily gaining weight. I know muscle weighs more than fat but what I'm concerned with is that all the weight seems to have settled in my stomach. I was pretty fit to begin with but for the last two weeks my stomach looks like the early stages of pregnancy. I thought maybe it was because I was eating more dairy than usual (yogurt, cottage cheese, etc.) but I haven't eaten any dairy for 3 days and no change.
Did you experience any unwelcome changes like this in your first month of the program? I am sticking with the excercise and diet but at the moment I feel like a big, sore, inflated pile of crap.
I welcome anyone's thoughts on this and would be interested to hear others' experience.
Thank you.
I just started the P90X program and created a group , feel free to join. I'm doing P90X Lean but all are definitely welcome.
I am on my third week of p90x.. i am a 25 year old girl. I lost weight initially but have also been gaining a bit.. (around 5 lbs). How is it working so far for you ladies? Ive been sticking close to the diet plan.. Anyone had success with it so far?

I am on week 3 of the classic program, but I am not following the nutritional plan exactly. I did a trial run of the nutritional plan and felt like I was eating WAY too much. So basically, I just went back to my regular diet (lots of fruits and veggies, few processed foods, etc.) with a few modification. I seriously upped my protein intake by drinking protein shakes once or twice a day. I also tried to cut out all bread for the first 4 weeks.
I don't know for sure, but it could be that you should just lower cut your portions down a little bit on everything. The guide even mentions that individual people may have to modify the plan for their bodies.
I hope things work out for you! Keep up with the program!
I've ordered my P90X and it should arrive on Thursday! I can't wait to start it and see some results!
Patricesic - Please don't admit defeat already. If anything the workouts could stimulate your appetite, and will become routine the more you do them! Not only that but exercise always makes you feel better about yourself during and after! You can do this ![]()
Good to hear that week 2 gets a little easier! I'm on day 3 right now of the Lean program (just discovered that I can't find my shoulders/arms disc...ughhhh) -- haven't exercised much in the past few months, and WOW...sore every day! Unable to do some of the Ab Ribber moves like they should be done...haha...good to hear :)
The side effects of allergy medications keep some people from using them. Natural remedies can be a great alternative, but some are more effective than others.
