Quick and dirty pinch test for body fat %age
Say I used my fingers to literally pinch an inch (or what have you), at the right (same) sites - eg front & back of thigh, abdomen, tricep - emulating reasonable technique as much as poss (grabbing as much as poss & lifting 1 cm), and measured the globulance with a ruler, and just observed this over time. Useless? Am thinking not, totally... changes would at least be roughly measured, no?
I believe when using the calipers (though I know you aren't), you use the trending number, so if a trending number is going down with your method, I mean that is some sort of guideline. I use online calculators that are very roughly based but I am using the same method and seeing the number go down, accurate- no but helpful- yes I think so :)
I got these calipers,. I use the seven site method given on the exrx website, because that is the method used at my gym and it seems better than the three site method. They used some very expensive calipers on me at the gym, but I got the same result at home with the $14 ones.
Thanks both!
I like those, OGR (right price) :)
Yeah, I really and debating between calipers and treating myself to a new sale that reads body fat%, I mean my bday is in a couple of months I could splurge :P
