Getting ripped for girls
Hi. I'm a girl and i want to get ripped. I don't want to get big but have a lean muscular built but not huge muscles. For that should i do weights everyday or on alternate days?

Weights 3 times a week.
The chances of you getting huge is next to none.
- Starting Strength
- Stronglifts
- New Rules of Lifting

I personally started with New Rules of Lifting for Women. It was a little less intimidating since it was designed for women but still encourages heavy lifting.
I've also followed Female Body Breakthrough, New Rules of Lifting (original) and Starting Strength. All of them are excellent programs.
I lift three times a week with 48 hours off weights between lifting sessions.
It is pretty hard to get "huge" for a girl unless you take steroids.
You can get ripped though by lifting heavy and following any of the above named programs

If you want to impress the ladies, don't forget that 60% of your muscle mass is below the waist. Don't just work the "vanity" muscles but also work them legs and butt!!

On training women by Coach Rippetoe:
- The vast majority of women cannot get large, masculine muscles from barbell training. If it were that easy, I would have them.
- Women who do look like men have taken some rather drastic steps in that direction that have little to do with their exercise program.
- Women who claim to be afraid to train hard because they “always bulk up too much” are often already pretty bulky, or “skinny fat” (thin but weak and deconditioned) and have found another excuse to continue life sitting on their butts.
- Rip: "You would look better if you gained about 10 lbs of muscle" Woman responds with look of utter horror. Rip: "Trust me, I've been looking at women a long time, and I'm really good at it."
Get a barbell training program (Starting Strength) and control your diet.
