Why do you need to burn 1000 calories? That's a little much isn't it?

Tae-Bo 1 hour

Elliptical at full speed 1 hour

High intensity kickboxing martial arts 1 hour

wii sports for 2 hours

etc.

etc.

Watching TV for 8 hours.
How many calories you burn depends your height & weight.  So for example, if you're large you may burn 1000 calories on an elliptical for an hour, but I only burn about 400-450 becauseI'm very small.

Depends on your height & weight.

In general, 60 min of runnig = 726

       &nb sp;   60 min of Dancing = 319

Overall = 1045

the best way to burn 1000 calories would be by hiking up a mountain made of ice cream.  i'd pick cherries and dig up nuts and swim in marshmallow fluff.

I like the way you think.
on another thread, trhawley, you were kind enough to call me an "athlete."  so when i start competing in the haagen dazs olympics, i'll have you to thank.  Tongue out
You're competing in the Haagen Dazs Olympics?  So you'll have a trophy AND a medal.

Hi, qtang. In your profile, you mentioned that you have developed binge eating disorder, and that sometimes you feel the need to exercise to burn off the calories from a binge.

It is against the site policies to encourage or help people continue with eating disordered behavior.  We can't encourage you to exercise to burn off binge calories.

Calorie Count has a good number of members who are in recovery from eating disorders. They can give you some peer advice and coaching.  I hope that you are also seeking professional counselling.

Swimming is my love.
I can keep going for hours so i'm lucky.

But recently my workout has just been with my mum and her friend and my brother (me and my brother are mainly just getting fit, while my mum and her friend are losing weight!).
We all meet at the school grounds down the road and i'm their personal trainer lol.
It's really fun!
I make up exercise drills for them.
We go for 30 minutes and i will probably increase it as we all get fitter.
We probably only burn 200-250 in the 30 minutes but i'm starting to bike during the day too!
Already did 20 mins on the bike this morning.
Going to the school later.
Then might do more biking when i get home!
Why has no one informed me of the Haagen Dazs Olympics?

I'm hurt. :(

Do a super sprint trathlon - works for me!

400m swim

20k Bike ride

5k run

Do it at race pace and you'll have worked off loadsa caloriesKiss

Obviously don't attempt it without a good basic fitness level and a good few months training. The training is fun and the event is awesome. You'll be addicted i promise!

Sorry didn't notice this before i posted!

My post was meant to motivate the poster to exercise and enjoy it whilst doing it and not to encourage any methods of weight loss that are damaging to health

sorry, laurieellen, didn't mean to exclude you.  you should be warned that the activities involved in this competition require fierce fun and lots of chomping at the bit.  when it comes to the intensity of the fudge event, you'll have to just suck it up.  overall, it's a great workout, and many of this year's recruits don't have as much experience as you or i.  Wink  an active lifestyle that includes treats, after all, is much healthier and happier than any lifestyle that doesn't.

1 hour of MUAY THAI BABY!
I second the kickboxing for 1 hour, or some other of high-intensity cardio.  You can't go wrong!
Ooh my ! The Haagen-Dazs Olympics? Can I join with soy icecream? I'm vegan. =X

Allergy Remedies
Is It Possible to Go Natural?
The side effects of allergy medications keep some people from using them. Natural remedies can be a great alternative, but some are more effective than others.
