I'm 14, 5'2", about 112-113 pounds. No, I am not looking to lose weight like some of the other young, female CC members, I'm just wanting a healthier lifestyle that sticks with me throughout the years. My question needs some background, before I get into the nitty-gritty: I'm quite active, I am on a soccer team two days a week and I strength train on the days in between. Some times I run, bike, leisurely walk, etc. but I don't know how to predict my metabolic rate. I know there are websites that do the calculating for you but I don't want to trust what may be faulty information. On days that I do not exercise-or on days when my exercise was lacking in vigor-what's a prediction of what my calorie count should add up to? All responses will be greatly appreciated!!!
Edit: I just realized people may want to know my calorie limit on the days that I DO, in fact exercise.... That limit is 2000 cal/day. :)
According to the Baylor College of Medicine Children's Nutrition Calculator, on days that you exercise you should be eating at least 2300 calories, on days when you are taking it easy (but not spending the whole day in bed), you should be eating 2000.
I used the Mayo Clinic calculator (plus some of my own personal experience: 14 year olds, unite!) and I would say you should eat about 1800-2000 on the days where you don't exercise. I would base it off of how hard you worked your butt off the day (or days) before. :)
