Melkor "Hey, crow away - we're all due a little brag time now and then. ( Which reminds me, I should change out the runner recruitment drive with something new, so if anyone want to have a brag thread up top, make one ;) )"

So here we go.

Since starting weight lifting vs doing cardio all the time - all though I've gained weight due to poor eating and stress and stuff I've managed to drop back from a size 14 to a 12 and the 12s are getting baggier every day.

So what is your personal achievement that you want to share!!  Brag it up folks!!

The jeans that were super tight on me a month and a half ago can now be put on and taken off without unbuttoning or unzipping :-)  I think it might be time for some new jeans!

wow...thanks so much for this post! lol (is it wrong to get this excited about the opportunity to brag??? Innocent)

Tuesday...I ran/walked for 2.7 miles in 35 minutes (including warm up/cool down)...And in that 35 minutes, I ran for 7 minutes straight, my own personal best!

Congratulations to both of ya'll for going down a size! Yay for new and better fitting clothes!

The other day I was able deadlift 100lb, 3x8, without resting mid-set. Tomorrow, 105...

i know this is the fitness forum, but mine has to be graduating magna **** laude last week Cool

ha!  that was latin for "with", not slang for semen Laughing

pg, your achievement is R-rated :)

I have been telling everyone who will listen that I can now do a chin-up unassisted.  I never thought I would be able to do that.  The weight training I have done using the NROLFW has really helped me change my body and my expectations for myself.  This was fun to brag about one more time.

Averaging just over 12,000 steps/day for the last month.  (More activity = more food can be eaten and still lose weight.  Yay!)

Getting my parents to go for walks with me so that they can get more active.

Being able to do push-ups.  With my feet up on the weight bench.  Currently working on push-ups that go into side planks (feet on the floor for these Smile).  I can do right arm up pretty easily but left arm up is still a bit shaky.

Buying single digit clothing sizes and having them fit.  Or even be loose!

Good job, everybody!

My big victory today was finding out I could keep up with 8 mph on the treadmill today - only for about 20 seconds, but 5 weeks ago I had that record at 6 mph!

Oh, yes, and today I did my full 2 sets of lunges for the first time ever.  I'll add weight next time!

Thanks for this thread - it makes me feel good to tell someone about these little victories!

LOL for real, people are wondering what I'm laughing about!!!

Congratulations!!!

I was actually pround Wednesday when I failed at the last few RDLS in my final set.  It meant I was really pushing myself.  I actually could not hold onto the bar any longer.

I get compliments on my arms.  They were always just skinny, now there are visible muscles.  Related to that is my crowning acheivement.  I have never, ever been able to lift myself out of a pool.  Always needed the ladder, very inconvenient!  Last week I tried it and I was able to easily lift myself up with my arms!!!!

Laughing

I actually ran on the treadmill (for my sprints for HIIT) and hit 6.0 wednesday and 7.0 today.

Previously never been higher than 3.8 on any treadmill.

And did all 3 sets of upper body yesterday for the 1st time.

Proud of me. Laughing

I have lost 35 lbs since Jan., I can fit into large hospital scrubs again, and all of my lifts have increased dramatically:

Squat 220lb

Bench 210 lb

Deadlift 285 lb

Military Press 135 lb

Power cleans 175 lb

I also ran 6.5 miles the other day, granted it took me 80 mins!

That is 6.5 miles more than I could ever do!!  Everyone has such awesome things to be proud of!!

When I started my 'lifestyle change' January 6th....I was having severe, terrible foot pain. I was dieting and trying to workout. But walking was hard for me due to the pain, and running not even an option! Little by little I have been walking more and even doing some running! (mind you I have only made it up to 4 minutes straight yet---and at 5.5mph---but doing intervals to help this slowly increase) But this is a wonderful thing! And up to 60 minutes of walking! I've walked/jogged/ran 3 miles in one workout. This is a huge thing to me! By the way, the foot pain---GONE!!

I have one more! About a month or so ago I was elated to try on my old favorite jeans, and they fit. I was so excited I was jumping all the way down the hallway when I put them on that day. (I got some crazy looks from my kids!) And I put those favorite jeans on the other day and they are getting too loose!! Wow. I have really exceeded my expectations about what I'd be able to stick it out for. And I'm soooooooooo not done yet!  :)

A victory that I recently had: Got out of the hospital in 5 days after having a colectomy. Was walking around the hospital alone on day 2 (and even walking to stairs because I wanted exercise)... On day 3 I stopped all pain medications. On day 6 (after surgery) I walked 4 miles... on day 7 (after surgery) I walked for 100 minutes at a 3 incline (without getting too tired)... A week and a 1/2 after surgery I went to California and attended a wedding. Today: I did the stair mill (revolving stairs) for 61 minutes and the treadmill at a 14 % incline for 40 minutes... I would consider those some pretty good victories, no?

I stayed on the elliptical today for 30 minutes doing the cardio function without having any urges to quit.....it made me smile :)

For the second day in a row I've done a 5K jog without stopping to walk at all...and my time improved a bit from yesterday; my pace is 6.2mph. I don't know how good (or bad :P) that is, but I feel good about it regardless!

loved reading the brags! :)

I brought cupcakes in to work (I made them with leftover batter from the small cake I made for my boyfriend's birthday yesterday) and I didn't eat ONE! I'm a notoriously horrible snacker, I can easily down 6 big cookies in a work day if they're there... so it's a huge acheivement for me! :D

AND I did deadlifts today in the weight room with all the guys, instead of up in the women's only area for the first time ever. (and did 20 pounds more than I've ever done before!)

Guess I had a pretty good day :D

After eating well (vegetables, fruits, whole grains, etc., no processed foods) for about 3 weeks, my skin is looking so good!!
