Hi, I have a question that may sound silly, but I'm serious. As long as I'm not running a fever, is it ok to work out with an infection? Don't get me wrong, I feel horibale, but I'm afarid if I get out of my rutien then I won't get back in. But then again, I don't want snot hanging from my nose during my h20 classes. Plus would my body get over the infection quicker if I didn't work out? What's your oppinions? Any input would be great! Thanks.
I used to get chronic sinus infections I chose to never stop my workout routine. If you want to stay disciplined do your workout, just take it at a lower intensity. Also make sure you are eating extra veggies and fruits for your immune system. Stay away from sugar, junk and milk products. Drink plenty of water.
My doctor told me that as long as the infection is "above the neck" I could continue to exercise as long as it didn't affect my breathing. So basically, go ahead as long as you aren't wheezing or breathless. :)
Ugh, I've been sick the past few days and have faced the same dilemma. Honestly, the last thing I wanted to do was go to the gym, but I told myself to stop whining and go. I actually felt better after I worked out - less achy, less fatigued, and my headache wasn't as bad. In fact, while I was working out, my sinuses didn't bother me at all, which was a relief - I thought I was going to have to carry my Kleenex around with me. So I say go for it, and good luck :)
