ARGH!!! Need resturant help PLEASE!!!!!

Quote  |  Reply

Ok so I am staying at my nanas for a couple of days and she has decided to take me out for dinner at the pancake parlour!!!

I am currently in recovery from an ED and I can't even remeber the last time I had pancake was I really don't know what to do. So I would love some suggestions:

Here is the menu:

http://www.pancakeparlour.com.au/menu/restaur ant/

Obviously all the sweets sound to die for, some of the savorys sound alright, but I don't just want to get a salad which I know I will do if I don't calm down before we get there.

Now I would love some suggestions, but in saying that I don't want to hear eat whatever you need to gain, becuase I pride myself on being healthy and I don't want to be put in a situation where I feel the need to starve myself for a week becuase I over did it.

Thanks in adavnce.

please please please respond with your choices it will mean the world to me :)

Honestly, see if you can substitute/have them leave out things. For instance, if you decide to get, like, the fish fillet from the savory side, ask if they can leave off the tartar sauce. You'll find that you can cut a lot of calories just by asking them to leave something off.

You should definitely look at the Best Breast of Chicken, the Fish Fillet, and maybe even the Mexican Chicken Crepes. They don't sound too awful for you.

For sweets, ask if you can get only one pancake and for them to leave off the cream/ice cream. Any pancakes with real fruit (i.e., not jam) shouldn't be too horrible-awful for you. For example, the Fresh Strawberries, Blueberries or Boysenberries. Don't get the Jamaican Banana one, though, the bananas are fried!

Good luck; I always hate eating out while trying to be healthy..

The Eggs Florentine (maybe without hollandaise or ask for eggs scrambled if you don't like poached) or the American Styled Blueberry Pancake- because both come with a buckwheat pancake and buckwheat super good for you! I had a buckwheat waffle and pancake for breakfast today! SO good!

For the OP, I think it'd be best if she had everything served with the meal, as she is recovering from an eating disorder and challenging herself to do things such as that could be very beneficial during the recovery process. Also she needs all the calories she can get right now if she is a recovering anorexic.

This x1,000.

Overcoming fear foods is part of recovery. Normal eating habits consist of splurging on food occasionally. Only eating "healthy" foods in recovery is just another way to have control and use it as an excuse to cut calories.

Edit: If I were eating there, I'd have either the Alice In Wonderland, Bavarian Apple, Jamaican Banana or the Jewish Blintz. I'm a sucker for sweet cakes.

That really depends on how new someone is to the recovery process. Sometimes it's best to take baby steps, jumping in with both feet can cause a relapse.

The OP has been in recovery since August-ish of last year. That doesn't seem very new to recovery, but perhaps it is.

Thanks Everyone for the replies :)

Thanks for the responce :) it means a lot, because that is exactly what I was trying to do, I have been relapsing to a degree for a few weeks now and I wanted to take this opporunity to really test myself. LOL I have a bit of a sweet tooth as well, although last night was the first night it has been let out in a very long time...

and while yes I have been in "recovery" since last August, I didnt really truly comit to it until much later and there have been a fair few stumbles in between
