Costco Very Berry Sundae compared with creemees
I went on an impromptu trip with a friend and his wife to Costco where we stopped for the "cheapest eats around" after picking up groceries. I had some reservations about this because I was guesstimating the volume of the sundae at being 2 cups and knew creemees had very high calories, even in a dish or wafer cone.
Does anyone have any idea how Very Berry Sundae comes in at only about 400 calories? Are they made of frozen yogurt?
I had been using soft serve for my estimates, using a factor of 2, 3 or 4 depeding on the size. For instance, for a volume comparable to what I picked up at Costco today I would have done 150 calories times 4.
So I just was wondering what a reasonable estimate of calories would be for a creemee (soft serve) and how there can be a 200 calorie difference between the the Costco item and unknown product bought at a wide variety of stands in the area?

Hiya!
Ok.. I have never heard if the term "creemee"! S.California the
Costco has non- fat kirkland frozen yogurt. It is sooo yumMY!
I get the swirl of chocolate and vanilla. I always ask them to just give
me half the amount they usually serve and they still peak the yogurt
till almost the top of the cup. The last time I bought my kitchen scale
and weighed the serving in the parking lot (yes I'm a dork!).My serving
was about 250 calories and I got the nutritional info from this site I believe!
Hope this helps..

I always thought they were different. Matter of fact, the only place I bought something advertised as frozen yogurt, as opposed to creemee, was at a TCBY shop in Mass.
Sites like in this photo are all around Vermont. Many put out the inflatable cone seen in the bottom photo to attact business.
I just came upon a NY Times article. Creemees are soft-serve ice cream. "There are mountains to climb and, in nearly every village, a Vermont institution: the 'creemee' stand, offering soft-serve ice cream in vanilla, chocolate and maple."
I noted the Costco preparation was less sweet than elsewhere so that I why I wondered if it was frozen yogurt instead.

yes- Costco uses frozen yogurt- at least the Costco in Antioch does- it says it on the order board- but I can't remember if it is non-fat though- I think it is...
Thanks, jen. Good to know.
