Some days, especially when my fat is low, my mind screams to me to eat fatty foods. Chocolate and biscuits mainly..is this just a mental mindset or actually my body saying I NEED IT!

And does anyone else get it? :)

I eat a low carb high fat diet (usually anywhere between 40-60% calories from fat)

Eating fat is HEALTHY for you, provided it comes from the right sources: egg yolks, fatty fish, grass fed meats, coconut oil, avocado, olives, flax seed, hemp, nuts... etc.

There is nothing wrong with eating fat! Fat stabilizes blood sugar, slows digestion, keeps your hair and skin healthy, regulates hormones, and even helps you to lose stubborn stored fat! I LOVE my fat!!

Eating this way basically prevents sweet cravings. The odd time when I do crave something sweet, I'll eat a tablespoon of coconut oil or almond butter, and maybe 1/2 an apple, and voila cravings gone!

I don't EVER try to fight cravings for fat, my body runs on fat!

...and I am currently leaner than I have ever been. The more fat I eat the more inches and body fat I lose :)

Is that really true? I mean, I know fat is healthy for you, but is 40% really that great? I have always been taught no more then 30%. I will admit that I did fall for the low fat diet, but I have gone off of that. I generally eat around 25% fat. I am kind of scared to go over that. I only ever eat healthy fats. Just 40-60% sounds like A LOT of fat. Don't they say that too high in fat can cause heart problems and storing more fat? I do understand the whole lower carb part. Especially the no grains. Ever since I stopped eating grains, my stomach feels a lot better. : ))

Oh, and sorry about this not having to do with the question.

My answer to the OP is: I think if you hadn't eaten a lot of fat before, that your body craving it means that your body needs it. Maybe to absorb some of your nutrients. If you crave some fat, I would eat a little bit of it (from only healthy sources of course) and see if that doesn't help your cravings. Maybe a small spoonful of one of your favorite nut butters. Preferably made with any added oils or sugars. : )

Some days, when I don't eat a lot, I get hungry

So I eat.

I follow the recommendations on this web site regarding how much carbs, protein and fat I should eat and if I get enough fat, I feel a lot better.

I find that if I'm low on fat one day, I'll crave food that evening and nothing will satisfy me until my fat intake is increased.  This doesn't mean over eating on fatty foods, though.  Instead, I have some nuts (I like 20 g almonds) or some peanut butter (1 Tbsp in a measuring spoon).  One bonus is that nuts have good fats in them - especially compared to all the processed foods out there.

Do you like cottage cheese? I tend to like 2% m.f. cottage cheese. It's 110 calories per 113-115 grams. It's quite nutrient dense.

Or you could go wild with a bag of nuts. Healthy fats!

I eat a lot of protein and fatty food as a staple and I hardly even crave sweet foods if anything. :) The less sugar I eat, the less I crave for them. So eat up.

Sounds more like you're craving sweets/sugar if you're craving chocolate and cookies.  It's ok to use some of your calories on treats as long as you can control yourself.  When I'm craving sweets I usually have a few hard cinnamon candies that way I satisfy my craving and still have self control.
