Diet Pepsi Slurpees - I can't find them!
I keep looking at 7-11 for the Diet Pepsi Slurpees and they only have Crystal Light.
From reading online, it looks like you can count on burning one calorie per oz that you drink of a frozen sludge. The Diet Pepsi kind has 0 calories so you'd be way ahead. Crystal Light has 5 calories per oz so while it's not too bad, it's still a bunch of calories!

Huh?
Isn't that burning is already counted in your daily alottment for eating? (minimum 1200 includes digestion of food, breathing etc)
Please dont say you rely on cold things to burn more calories and to lose weight. Its like 1 calorie! WHich is nothing. Walking to GET the slurpee burns more.
Diet Pespi doenst have 0 calories. If you drank a gallon, it has calories. But per serve it is rounded down to zero.
If you had a cup of this crystal light, thats only 35 calories. That isnt much. Cal counting isnt an exact science. It much better than a full sugary slurpee which its prolly 35 cal per oz.

the only reason I think it would burn any calories is because it would be too cold to process and the body needs to heat it up. But really, dont rely on that to burn calories!
besides, why not diet pepsi+ice+blender. Same thing, no?

I'm going for the every little bit that you don't notice much helps, not counting on it for exercise or to offset food. Converting ice water up to temperature is not counted in the daily allowance. I think I even saw drinking ice water under the activity section!
It depends on the item as to whether or not it has 0 calories. A can of Diet Squirt has 0 calories. A glass or gallon of ice water has 0 calories. A Crystal Light Slurpee has more calories and I'd rather use the calories on something else like chocolate.
I'm drinking more water because I know that simply processing 1/2 gallon to a gallon takes a little bit more energy, not to mention the number of runs to the bathroom. Again, I'm not even attempting to count that as exercise. I already have 3-4 days of week of 500-1000 calories burned with exercise.
I'm attempting to add some relatively good habits that are beneficial in some way...it's working, my pants are getting loose.

What do you mean by good habits? You mean like healthy ones? Or good cal-cutting tips?
Water is great! Keeps you hydrated, so tis good to see you're drinking more. But dont slam it donw to much or you'll flush out good nutrients.
You do realise cal counting is all approx too you know. You cant eat exactly 1200 cal a day, even if you measure everything, cos you burn differently every day.
Yeah, I dont count each step I do as cals burnt. Like you, I count my exercise. That's really good that you're combining exercise into your new habits. And its good you judge not by weight, but by size.
In repsonse to the blender thing, I tried that, but its better to freeze the pespi and then crush it, otherwise its too watery. Or if you have diet syrups, makes them a little stronger than usual and crush

So does anyone know how long it takes to turn a diet drink into a slushee in the freezer?
I'd really prefer not to have to clean up after an explosion...I guess I could pour one into another container and freeze 1/2 the volume like I do with water and then pour an equal volume over it.
Good habits (some are quality, some are quantity, some are just avoiding lazy habits):
Being aware of what you eat, even when it is pizza or chocolate. Yes, that pastry was really 600 calories and I am now over my daily limit so I have to get some exercise tonight along with a light dinner...can anyone say tuna in whole wheat pitas? Maybe I'll splurge and make poki...hmmm.
Drinking sufficient water over a longer period of time...sipping refrigerated water seems to help me avoid snacking much of the time.
Snack on fruits, nuts, healthy stuff first.
Eat small meals regularly throughout the day instead of scarfing down everything at once.
Substitute low fat or non-fat or sugar free or no sugar added whenever possible (still avoid syrupy coffee drinks since they have at least 100 more calories).
Take a vitamin daily.
Drink a vodka & grapefruit juice instead of a long island ice tea. Sorry, diet coke and jack is nauseating to me.
Trying to get some exercise even if it's stretching daily.

yum crystal light slurpees sound so good right now. It's so hot outside! :) and I dont think its 5 calories an ounce, its more like 45 calories for 12 ounces or something like that. I better double check!
I havn't seen the diet pepsi slurpee in quite some time. nobody bought it...
EDIT: Oh man I just checked and it is 5 cals an ounce. Aw and I was going to fit those into my calories over the summer daily! pooy!
