We have a Salter digital scale (Salter 7X7 Compact Electronic Food Scale)  that we love!  My husband and I both use it all the time, especially for things we tend to eat too much of (pasta!)

I measured out an ounce of almonds yesterday (hadn't ever done that - don't usually have almonds around) and was plesantly surprised with the number I could munch on - almost 30 small almonds!

Edit: We got ours at a store called Sur La Table, but I think you can find good scales at any kitchen store.  Target probably has them too, but I'd rather spend the money at a local store, or smaller chain.
I got a really nice food scale on eBay... it's an Escali Primo in warm red. I paid about $24 for it, including shipping. It measures in ounces, pounds, or grams, has a tare setting, etc. I've been really pleased with it.
Sydthekid : thanks for the information. How did you buy your scale? did you buy it online? or you just went to the store. I like it so much.
I picked mine up at Target for $28 bucks in the small appliance section.  They had a less fancy one for $20.  They're basically the same thing only the more expensive one has a library of foods in it.  You can put an apple on it, pick the code for apple and wala, it'll give you all the nutritional info.  I got that one so I can get calories for things (later when I get better) without constantly coming online.

edit: it weighs in grams or ounces.
