I dont care if it IS healthy ~

Quote  |  Reply

What food(s) are healthy but you simply dislike them?

My sister ended a visit here and left behind the remainder of purchased of Fiber One cereal. I know there are fans but tried it and knowing that box will not be opened again.

Also water straight - mixed with walmart brand crystal light (peach tea and apple are my preferences) but plain is not an option and never has been since childhood.

Frozen peas, fresh snow or snap peas are good though.

Frozen corn

Sweet potatoes

Winter squash of any sort, unless used to bake a pumpkin pie.

Plain milk. Only good in coffee. I love cheese though.

Seitan

Mussels

Clams, unless cleverly disguised with chowder.

Combos (I know, not a health food, but they're just so weird!)

Artichokes and green beans. They're just horrible, I literally gag when I taste them, yet all my friends seem to love them.

Banana haters make me sad. I eat around two a day... more for me, I guess. Wink

Peas, artichokes, celery, cottage cheese, figs, dates, kale, sushi (can't get used to the texture), milk - by itself- its fine in cereal, chick peas-only when they're whole, cause I lovehummus and falafel, beets, cauliflower, any carbonated beverage, hot tea (iced is ok), spicy foods

Wow, I never realized I was such a picky eater!

Celery

Cabbage -- red cabbage is my arch enemy. seriously.

Olives

Melons -- way too watery

Any nut besides peanuts and even then I don't like them in things (except Snickers!)

Beets -- my mom loves them and even the smell makes me gag

Mushrooms -- slimy little fungi...blech

Those freeze-dried strawberries found in cereals.

Avocados. No no no. I dislike them with a passion. Even if I smell one its enough to make me gag!

Corn,
potatos/yams,
snap peas,
water chestnuts (I think thats what theyre called),
never really liked bananas but I do eat them if I need more potassium.
Celery is just yucky eww.
Dont like milk either, although Im lactose intolerant so its a good excuse to stay away from it anyway!
Oranges are ehhh
Mango
Cranberries
Dont like pineapple either.

I really like beets and brussel sprouts and green beens though haha.

Cauliflower

Water chesnuts

Pears

peas

olives

artichoke hearts

spinach (except on rare occasions when it sneaks in and I can't notice)

Plain oatmeal

turnip

any fruit juice besides cranberry and grapefruit

Fishy fish (the smell gags me)

b.a.n.a.n.a.s

any nut or nut butter or anything nut-flavored or incorpoating nuts

anything unvegan goes off, but dairy products, eggs, and mayonnaise truly gross me out.

raisins or any dried fruit

granola

uncooked tomatoes

olive oil-the taste of it on anything

pretzels or anything too salty

bread, even whole wheat-rather have pita/wasa/ something like that

dark chocolate, may be healthier than milk anyway but I think its "health" is exaggerated

potatoes, sweet potatoes, peas, broccoli, cauliflower, cooked carrots, arugula

rice except for minimal brown rice in vegan sushi

oranges and any of their cousins like clementines, cantaloupe, mango, peppers raw or cooked, pineapple, papaya-not that into orange, I guess

pasta

there's a lot more

You're vegan and don't eat nuts or pasta?

What do you eat?

Haha I know it sounds ridiculous, but this person (trippythings) sounds a lot like me. I'm vegan too, and I don't like bananas, raw tomatoes, rice, or pasta like her-- and also I don't even like tofu or beans either-- although I do like nuts and other things. For "grains" I just eat oatmeal, cereal, bread, but mostly I live off of fruit and vegetables, soup, salad, and cereal. I do force myself to eat beans and tofu. Although I don't like them, they're okay, and I know I just need to eat them for protein.

It's incredibly healthy but it is getting boring; unfortunately I really can't even figure out WHAT I like to eat anymore.

Mushrooms! the texture drives me crazy. Most veggies in fact i could do without. but i still eat them for the benefits

Cottage cheese

Persimmons (the texture is just nasty!)

Peanut Butter (but like pb flavored foods)

Avacado (except for guacamole)

It's more a "texture thing" than the flavor when I dislike something.

I hate plain celery.  Blech.

I hate Jell-o and they keep showing a jell-o add on this website.  YUCK!  I also hate pudding and I suppose that's a healthier dessert option.

Brussel Sprouts......even the smell of the cooking makes me nauseous!

It's funny to read these, because I see things that people hate and can't imagine how anyone can live without them.  Like Brussels sprouts, my favorite vegetable.  Or avocados.  Artichokes.  M ilk.  Seafood (Nature's PERFECT food!).  Bread?!  I guess I'm just lucky (or cursed) that I can eat just about anything, except:

Bananas, guavas, papayas, mangos, persimmons, melons of any kind, raw tomatoes, eggplant, okra, tripe (or any other "weird" animal parts), uni, and I've never had any form of tofu that I truly enjoyed.

I also agree with those who don't like plain water- it's really hard for me to force it down without some kind of flavoring (like the Wal-Mart crystal light mentioned above).

TUNA. I'm thinking it stems from school lunches, when other kids used to bring tuna sandwiches which had gotten warm in their lunch bags, on soft untoasted white bread. The smell was awful. *shudder*

eggplant, avocado, okra, fish (salmon is sort of OK), tripe, squid (though i love calmari)

All seafood and lakefood =) haha. I also cannot stomach cucumbers and pickles. I don't like bananas, but I have learned to sneak them in my smoothies!! (ps, I can't even taste them) I think thats about it. I think it's more mind over matter usually. But some smells, I just can't get past!

uncooked celery

wheat germ

okra--ew...slimy

pumpkin/squash

sour oranges

plain seafood (I like cooked fish, but plain shrimp, or plain mussels/clams/oysters, etc, are unappealing...I like seafood in things though)

Jello

Pudding

Pickles

Peaches

Celery

Thats about it....I am okay with most other things.

I'm good with just about everything, except:

water chestnuts, cilantro, and I hate it when people chop celery and put it in "soft" foods like potato salad.  I can eat celery plain, in soups or stews or casseroles where it's allowed to soften, but I can't eat raw celery in potato salad!

other than that, I'm good :)

cherry tomatoes

raw mushrooms

olives

avacado
