Dreamfields Pasta - 5 grams of countable carbs
I am so excited about this pasta that I thought I should share:
Dreamfields Spaghetti - digestible carbs are 5 grams. It has very little effect on your blood sugar.
It tastes just like regular pasta. : 65% lower glycemic index than reg. pasta twice the fiber cholesterol free 0 trans fats. I had it last week with my in-laws. I loved it.
www.dreamfieldsfoods.com There is a $1.00 off coupon at their site to try it.
I just called to make sure I had the correct count for diabetics since my son is diabetic. It just seems too good to be true. I was told he should only count 5 carbs per serving! That is so exciting for me :) He can finally eat spaghetti!

that's great news, corral! i'll have to go look for it.
we tried shredded zucchini the other day, as a spaghetti substitute, and it's pretty good, too, but i don't know if you could get kids to eat it. my husband doesn't like zucchini, but he thought it was pretty good with spaghetti sauce and veggie meatballs on it. you just use a shredder, and then simmer it for no more than 3 minutes. i've heard of spaghetti squash, but haven't tried that. i think it might only be available at certain times of the year, like fall, maybe.

Hi Elin,
I have never tried zucchini as a spaghetti substitute.. geat way to get your veggies in! I don't know how long this Dreamfields has been around but honestly it's a better choice if you are going to eat pasta anyhow.
How do you make veggie meatballs? Or, do you buy them pre-made?

I just tried these noodles tonight and they are pretty good. I melted a wedge of laughing cow swiss cheese and added some reduced fat sargento mex shredded cheese, a spash of milk and a little butter. It ended up tasting okay. Not as good as my regular homeade mac and cheese, but a good substitute. This recipe may still need some work to enhance flavor. It was one of those spur of the moment concoctions.
hi aquade... glad I clicked this thread again! I haven't tried any other of their pasta products... I wish they had a thinner spaghetti....my husband doesn't care for the thicker spaghetti. I love it myself but he has to eat too! Good luck perfecting that mac and cheese recipe!
They do make spaghetti noodles. I bought some the other day.
