Just got a jar. It's got good fats, virtually no sodium, and I really like the flavor. Does anyone have creative "go-withs"? I mean, I plan to use on toast, but does it go as well with apples & bananas as PB? It's high enough in cals & fat that I don't want to experiment too much & waste my calorie quota, if you know what I mean...
Thanks for any advice!
Ooooh! That's a really good question! I have a jar sitting in my cabinet right now, but the only thing I've really found that I can do with it is have it with apples like Redkitty mentioned. My hubby puts it on bread with jam like a pbj, but I dunno about that one, seems kind of rich to me.
I suppose one could cut up firm fruits like apples, jicama, pears etc, and drizzle it on top w/honey for a fruity dessert?
Or maybe it could be used in a pie crust to add a nutty flavor?
Or maybe it could be added to a recipe for the "crust" on those "mock fried chicken" (You know, the kind that's baked)?
Or into a stir fry?
No? I dunno.... I'm excited to see what people use it for..
Good answers, all!
Subway, what are almond butter noodles? Is that like asian noodles with peanut sauce but subbing almond butter? Sounds pretty good!
Hehe, I like it because my peanut-butter loving family won't eat it all up!
I will definitely try the asian noodles. I wonder if you use it instead of PB with chicken, like chicken satay...
Figure, I think I will go for the almond butter/banana breakfast tomorrow before work! I will try the oatmeal idea one day, too Oink. Gotta admit, I don't have any idea what fage yogurt is. Is it plain?
Thanks to all who made suggestions!
