Hmmm.... Well I'm not sure if you are a coffee drinker but that usually fills me up and is a great low cal snack. If not try drinking some sugar free apple cider. Oatmeal is always very filling and is a better choice than a cookie. Also, try steaming your carrotts in some nutra-sweet :)

thank u XD

ill try that

How about hard-boiled eggs?

not a very big fan of the hard boiled egg!(i never have been!)

thank you for your advice though

=3

Soup....  Warm, filling & usually quite low cal.   I'm quite fond of Japanese Miso soup which comes in handy little sachets.  Regular canned or instant soups tend to be on the salty side but have the advantage of convenience.  And, of course, if you make your own soup and pop it in a wide-necked flask, that's going to be really healthy and satisfying.

- oatmeal

- chopped and microwaved apple sprinkled w/ cinnamon

- microwaved canned pumpkin sprinkled w/ cinnamon

- skim milk lattes

- cottage cheese + raisin bran mixed and microwaved (yes, this sounds weird but is really good!)

- rice pudding

Tea.  I love tea.  You can get some really fun flavours too, like ginger and vanilla and peppermint.  This tea store I was at once had a vanilla creme tea with white chocolate shavings in it (not enough to add too many cals, but enough to make it super tasty).  Go to a fancy tea store and see what fun stuff they have.

I agree with jane, soup is great too.  I made roasted parsnip and potato soup the other week and is was SO creamy and delicious, without any cream at all (blizted potatoes do the job nicely).  You can pretty much throw any old thing into broth and you will come out with tasty soup.

tea, soup at hand (by campbells), steamed veggies with parmesan cheese sprinkled on top, roasted cauliflower. half an acorn squash with a few sprays of butter and a little sprinkle of brown sugar.

A few things that I like would be soup, heated apples...if you like it hot apple cider can work too. Oatmeal...if you buy them Tyson chicken breast strips you can heat a few of them up and use them as snacks. You could also make a small dish of scrambled eggs. Small portion of rice could work, but if you make it from a pack you'll have leftovers.

...that's all I have for now.

This may sound really weird for a snack, but I can't get over the deliciousness of it.

Microwave a medium sweet potato for 4 mins, chop it into sections so they look like circles, sprinkle with cinnamon and drizzle with sugar free syrup.

I also strongly support the oatmeal ideas. Buy regular or rolled oats and mix in your own toppings or buy the low-sugar kinds.

Steaming baby carrots really brings out their sweet flavor by the way.

There's also whole-wheat toast, 100 calorie packs of popcorn, flavoured rice cakes, Clif Zbars and Luna teacakes (you can nuke these for a few seconds actually), low-cal hot chocolate (Swiss Miss diet flavor has 30% calcium in one packet), etc.

  • Toasted almond butter sandwiches (I like them on Ezekiel raisin bread or pita pockets).
  • Warm cooked oatmeal with cinnamon, pumpkin, chopped almonds, and almond or cashew butter. If you cook it in milk it makes it extra good and creamy.
  • Air-popped popcorn with parmesean and olive oil (good savory choice).
  • Homemade or low-sodium soups with warm bread or toast for dipping.
  • Baked cinnamon apples or pears (you can also add Truvia to sweeten them up).
  • Homemade banana bread or other quick-bread - eaten while fresh from the oven, preferably with nut butter and a cup of hot tea or coffee.
  • Steamed milk with cocoa powder and agave nectar; hot chocolate.
  • Toasted pita pockets filled with scrambled eggs and various veggies, or with heated leftover cooked chicken and a few diced pieces of jalapeno and cheddar cheese. Sometimes I'll add bell peppers too.
  • Beans on toast. Sounds wierd, but it's comfort food! You can use homemade or store-bought baked beans, but a lot of commercial brands contain bacon, so avoid them if you're vegetarian and buy the Eden Organic ones instead - pork free!
  • Baked or microwaved apple topped with cinnamon or nutmeg.
  • Hot cocoa with a scoop of low fat ice cream.
  • Oatmeal topped with nuts or anything you prefer.
  • Non-creamy vegetable soup.
  • Grilled nut butter n' banana/apple sandwich.
  • 1/2 toasted bagel with cream cheese, nut butter, jam, ect.
  • Microwaved edamame soy beans.
  • Microwaved luna/lara/ect natural granola bar.
  • Air-popped popcorn topped with chili powder.
  • Microwaved soy/real any flavor pudding with flaxseed meal.
  • Warm melted dark chocolate topped on a banana.
  • Toasted warm pita pocket stuffed with veggies, hummus, and even greek yogurt.
  • Toasted fruit bread spread with nut butter+jam ; glass of warm (soy?)milk.
  • Amy's cheese pizza/strawberry/apple toaster pastries.
  • Warm natural fruit sauce sprinkled with cinnamon or nutmeg.
  • Cold natural cereal and (non-dairy?)milk, microwaved.

Teehee. :3

Wow tinasaur and zebula - good lists!

I lean towards two things when trying to drop the chill (in my house LOL).  Cream of wheat with cinnamon, vanilla and nutrasweet.

The other is egg drop soup, easily made and it really warms me. Half a tablespoon mixed in 1 can cold broth, boiled and then drizzle in one raw scrambled egg plus a splash of soy sauce.  Takes just minutes, about 100 calories and also strangely filling.

Chicken Soup - Chicken Broth, Spinach, Diced Onions & Canned Chicken (white meat only). = Pretty yummy! :) Just remember to get low sodium!

Those steamer bags of veggies in your frozen food section are also good quick & easy snacks! I mean what beats 2/3 minutes in the microwave!!

I tried to steam some broccoli in a steamer bag last night and it burned it :(

I'm not good with microwaves...maybe I'll just stick to the saucepan, foil, and stovetop strategy...

Swiss Miss Sugar Free Cocoa does it for me. And I like pretzel sticks to fill me when I need crunch.

 O_O Wow.

I'm definatley down with the chocolate banana thing. ^^ I remember making those with my grandma when I was little - we'd usually chill or freeze them after dipping.

I believe there's actually a company that makes such a thing these days. I saw them at Whole Foods one time...

If im hungry I always enjoy a bowl of oatmeal with some berries, cinnamon and soymilk.  Or sometimes Ill heat milk on the stove and eat some granola with it, toast with natural pb and honey is good, or you can make your own hot coco with milk, coco powder and splenda...steamed veggies are always good and healthy! sometimes I even bake a sweet potato!
