Healthy Options at Applebee's, help!!

Quote  |  Reply

5'5" 131 lbs. Goal: 1500 calories

Today, I'm going out to see Eclipse with my mom and her friend and one of my friends and afterwards, we're going to Applebee's. I'm having some honey nut cheerios at the movie theater and so far today, I've eaten pretty good. I've had breakfast but this is what I plan for the rest of the day.

B- Regular Instant Oatmeal with 1/4 cup of strawberries mixed in, 1 Cup of chopped watermelon with 1/2 cup of blueberries, 201 calories

L- Half a sandwich (1 slice of wheat bread, 1 slice of Deli turkey, 1 tbsp of mustard, 1/4 cup of baby spinach, 1 slice of tomato) and 1 Cup of Healthy Request Chunky Chicken Noodle Soup, 223 calories

S- Gala Apple, 75 calories

S (at movie theater)- 3/4 cup of Apple Cinnamon Cheerios

Total: 624 calories and 7.4 grams of fat

I want to order something good at Applebee's without crashing my diet, any healthy suggestions?? After this, I will probably have a small dessert later  so don't freak out over whether or not I eat enough, cause even if I don't, I'll eat more to boost up my daily intake

Thanks!! -Tray

They have like 4 or 5 choices of meals that clock in at 550 calories or less. I personally love the peppercorn asiago steak meal. Enjoy!

they have an "undere 550 calories" segment of there menu. order anything from there.

OFF THE REGULAR MENU. you can get a 7oz sirloin steak for 240 without toppings on it, side caesar salad for 90 and seasonal veggies for about 50. so you're looking at 400 off the regular menu.

shrimp and rice OR asian peppercorn steak OR steak and portabellos are all under 400 for the entire meal. it's on the "under 550 cals" section

for under 500 calories you can get the asian crunch salad or spicy shrimp diavolo, also under the 550 calories section. so very do able. get what you want though..don't choose something for 400 calories to save 90 calories...if you want something a BIT more indulgent go for it...that's not much :)

I didn't know they had an under 550 section! Heck, I'll just order off of that then! Thanks!!

What's your daily calorie goal? It seems like you're restricting too much in preparation for one meal. Applebee's has a selection of 5 different items now for less than 550 calories. http://www.applebees.com/Menu_Under550.aspx

Edit: just realized you are a teen. Eat a lot more during the day. I guarantee you need more calories than you think you do. I think 1,500 is bare minimum for a totally sedentary, petite teenage girl.

I second that! The steak is delicious

I agree. The 550 cal meals are a good idea, however, you could even enjoy a drink or a small desert/appetizer if you wanted.

Or if you get hungry before you go, you could still enjoy a snack beforehand since you've only eaten 534 calories today.

I'm not saying you'll automatically starve from one day of eating too little, but you just have a lot more wiggle room than you think.

Ooohhh get their Italian Chicken & Portobello Sandwich!! I get it all the time when I go to Applebee's. Smile  It's under 400cals, and it's so good!

Allergy Remedies
Is It Possible to Go Natural?
The side effects of allergy medications keep some people from using them. Natural remedies can be a great alternative, but some are more effective than others.
