Help me estimate the calories in the end crust of pizza

I've looked all over the Internet, but I haven't been able to find any calorie estimates for just the end crust of pizza (just the part you hold that has no sauce/cheese/topping on it). I don't know why this is, but that's the only part of pizza I really enjoy (and I guess that's a good thing!) 

A slice of medium cheese pizza from Domino's has 210 calories. I estimate about 50 calories in just the end crust. Do you think this is way off base?

The end crust is the only part I like too! hehe

Anyway, it shouldn't be much more than 50? I'd estimate between 50 and 100, but there's really no way to tell if you don't know the calories of the pizza base only. If you did, you could always weigh the end crust and find out.

Split the difference, call it 70 and call it a day. Man, I don't know how enjoyable that pizza crust was if you're agonising over the cal content :P I hope it was yummy though :D

So let me get this straight.  You get a Dominos, eat the crust edge and throw away the pizza's tomato/cheese/bottom crust? Why not eat a couple of grocery store breadsticks (50 calories) and save money. Or eat a Dominos breadstick. These are 130 calories each, and made from the same dough as the pizza crust. Crust in a stick.

You're clearly not a crust-eater ;) I believe the proper procedure is to wait for your friends to order a pizza, watch them eat the interior, and then say, "Hey man, you gonna finish that?" In an ideal world, every pizza crust-eater is matched up with somebody who eats the rest of the pizza and leaves the crusts untouched on their plate.

Haha you couldn't have said it better, really. When my friends order pizza I'm always on the lookout for leftover crust. I don't care at all for the rest of it... but I don't get the same pleasure eating crust sticks that didn't have any pizza attached to it. :P

That's exactly what I do. My friends always leave me a few crusts.

I've used an estimate of 2.8 calories per gram of crust.  This was back when my family would order pizza once a week and I'd save some calories by eating everything EXCEPT the crust-ends, then weigh them and subtract the calculated calories from the calories listed for the pizza slices I ate.

I haven't done that in ages, but if anybody needs a non-crust-eater to pair up with I'm game.  :)

My husband eats the pizza, I eat the crusts... really the best part!
