How to incorporate more nutrients into my diet

Quote  |  Reply

Hello,

I am having a hard time getting enough calcium, vitamins and potassium into my diet.  I seem to do okay staying around my calorie range, but I am missing a lot of key nutrients.  I am new to this whole eating healthy lifestyle.  I also have to cook for my husband and daughter who are very picky.  Any advice on how to start eating better? Any good cookbooks or websites out there with easy recipes??

sound simple but just eat fruits and vegetables

Hello there. You can try to integrate new healthy foods into your regular eating routine. Do this slowly because you don't want to drastically change your diet. Also, choose food that  mixes well with your current diet. You will know what I'm talking about through this article. I hope it will help.

I supplement calcium most days. If you are going to do that, also take a magnesium supplement or a cal/mag blend. And I eat more dairy than the average bear but I can't seem to get enough.

Potassium - its more that a lot of foods don't have the content listed so you don't actually know how much you are getting.

Vitamin A - eat bell peppers, carrots. Especially carrots. Shred them up and mix them into pasta sauce, meatballs and meatloaves to hide them from the picky family.

Vitamin C - fresh fruit and veg.

What else are you concerned about?
