does laughing cow melt?

Quote  |  Reply

A lot of people at this site love laughing cow lite cheese wedges. Do they melt? I was thinking for both grilled cheese (pannini) type sandwiches and melty type noodle dishes (faux mac and cheese). Thanks!

p.s. why do most people seem to prefer the laughing cow wedges to the circles (they are only 15 calories less, but also have less calcium).

I'm sure they do as they are cheese and I swear I've seen someone on here talking about melting them so yeah they probably do :D
Most all cheese melts except for some fat-free cheeses. That's a great idea though, I'm going to try and make some pasta sauce with a Laughing Cow. xD
i used it in pasta kinda like a mac and cheese. it was really good! and it worked out pretty well. if i can remember correctly, i did mix in a little skim milk, but barely a splash! good luck!
They melt really well.  I use them for fettuccini alfredo, melting the wedges in some unsweetened almond milk with minced garlic.  I tried them on a panini once and it was good, but a lot of the cheese oozed out the sides, and some of it soaked into the bread.  I think a lot of people prefer the wedges because they're spreadable.

HI!

The best spaghetti recipe I can give you is using shiritake noodles (40 calories for a bag that makes nearly 3 cups of pasta), 1 laughing cow, 2 tablespoons of fat free sour cream, salt and pepper- Its exactly like fetuccini alfredo only it will take 86 calories off your plan ;) Laughing

Another one is the same shiritake noodles, but in linguine shape, laughing cow, ground beef tofu, and chunky salsa....mix the ground beef tofu with the laughint cow and salsa, put them in the micro (alone by itself is a killer DIP), but if you mix it with shiritake's it will still be a whole pasta meal under 100 calories.

Oh, I am a believer!

Most of the Laughing Cow wedges in the stores around here (the ones that come in a little round box) are SOFT cheese ... like cream cheese spread.  So they are great for cooking and for snacking.

I melted the rounds into my scrambled eggs. I don't like the wedges very much. I tried them on toast and they are ok like that but they suck on a sandwich IMO. I will not be buying them again. ANYWAY...YES they are meltable. LOL
