meal plan templates for different calorie ranges--WHAT DID YOU EAT TODAY??

Quote  |  Reply

OKAY, so there is a thread that posts foods eaten for the day, but for those of us who run low on ideas or want to see what a particular range of calories can look like for the day i thought it would be GREAT to have a thread where we list our foods eaten with the calorie range. so, if you're with me listaway!!

I think it would be helpful to list the TOTAL CALORIES for each person's day...that way individuals can get a sense of what a days worth of calories looks like for that calorie goal. if this is a bad idea then that's fine but it's just a suggestion

B: 1 packet oatmeal, 1 packet cream of wheat, 4 eggs, 1 cup cabbage, 1 light yogurt, 1 orange [split into 2 mini meals]

S: sandwich with veggie deli meat, lettuce, a salad, and homemade energy bar

S: ice cream from a neighborhood place

L: egg burrito with cole slaw and a cereal bar

S: hummus and carrots with cheery tomatoes, string cheese, homemade energy bar

S: oatmeal, cottage cheese with all bran

D: ww pasta, veggie grounds, broccoli/caulflower blend

S: frozen yogurt, popcorn with cinnamon and sugar, small slice carrot cake

First of all to those slamming my post about my diet..

I was not anorexic and am not recovering from anorexia, i restricted calories for 2 weeks for gods sakes not 2months, please tell me how that is anorexic, I went hospital due to the lack of energy i had and quickly hit my calories up to about 1300, and continued to lose weight, so yes.. no damage was done to my metabolism obviously

Ofcourse it was a typo, i meant 200calories increase every week not 2.

Also the comments on how boring my diets are, well tbh i dont find them boring at all i actually really love the foods i eat and enjoy them with a passion, im eating different fruits and veges, having whole wheat bread for carbs and like i said i would have chicken from one of my parents meals or something else a couple of days a week. I have Sandwiches of turkey because personally i love turkey and would rather them over any other meat.

Where did i say im having no fat ? Just because the yogurt is no fat it doesnt mean i get no fat..

I dont live off yogurt ? did you guys even read my diet meal plan ? It has yogurt, turkey, fruits, vegetables, whole wheat, oat meal etc.

Like i said i dont like eating meat, and for me to get some source of meat i rely on turkey, chicken breast or tuna.

I dont have an eating disorder, but i watch what i eat, because in a couple of months i have a trial for a major sports team in Australia, the canterbury bulldogs ?

Thanks for the comments, but i really am enjoying what i eat and dont find it boring at all. It's all nutritional etc. so theres nothing wrong with that.

Also I'm very happy with my weight and how i look and that teen calculator for intake that you all recommend, mentions anything from 46kg - 60kg is healthy for a guy my age and height.

You don't have to say you're having no fat...we deduced that from your menu. No one called you anorexic but you do exhibit signs of disordered eating. Don't post asking for help and opinions if you're going to react in such a negative way. You don't eat enough fat, plain and simple. It doesn't compose even close to the minimum 20% recommended and that's apparent from your choices. REgardless of whether or not you"like" eating the foods that you do and don't find it boring it all, I could eat all broccoli all day or frozen yogurt all day but does that make it healthy? No!! Your reliance on nonfat yogurt and turkey sandwiches is also not very healthy. The foods themselves are but your mentality is not.

Anorexia is not about a time frame. It's about a way of eating, and how one regards one's own body. You had to go into the hospital because you weren't eating enough, for goodness' sake. I'm not the one who implied you were anorexic, although one of the people who did is a recovering anorexic, which should probably tell you something about yourself. The fact that you were still losing weight when you got out of the hospital doesn't mean that there was "no damage done," and the fact that you think you've only hurt yourself if you stop losing weight is a little sickening. I'm just going by what you've said in your own posts. You also said:

"i have been told by doctor to stay at light activity/moderate or sedentary for the time being as i strained my self too much while i was heavily dieting, even though it didn't stuff up my metabolism and didnt go into starvation mode."

And now you say that you have a trial coming up for a sports team? Didn't your doctor tell you to cut back on activity while your body recovers? How do you have the energy for that kind of training while eating so little?

Comments were made about the diet plan you posted because it was basically nothing but nonfat yogurt, fruit and a couple of turkey sandwiches; I think there may have also been oatmeal. There is very little (if any) fat there. There's none in the yogurt, or the fruit, or oatmeal, and probably not very much in the turkey either, since it's probably low-fat turkey breast. So, unless you're smearing your bread with butter or not telling us the whole story, no, you're not getting enough fat if this is how you eat on a daily basis. You asked for comments and you got them, so don't just write them off because we didn't all ooo and ahh about how you're getting "only 1300 calories." You already know you're supposed to be eating more, or you wouldn't have said that you were trying to work your way up to 1900 calories.

I know I'm not a perfect eater. No one is. All any of us can do is try to be healthy. But you're underweight, and I think you know it. I also get the impression that you're proud it, and I don't think that's okay. Like I said, my own nephew (who's about your age and height) is really active in soccer and baseball (not rugby like you, but still), and he still eats at least twice what you do, even with his allergies to fish and nuts. I'd be extremely concerned if he started eating like you. Anyway, that's all I have to say about it.

i wasnt saying you were anorexic either i was simply commenting on how your meal plan looked and that was very restrictive in certain foods x

Hey emma...can i challenge you to eat 2000 calories today and add a snack somewhere before dinner? maybe some peanut butter and an apple since you don't have much fat. your dinner might be an overestimation as well. turkey is pretty low cal, and even with veggies and gravy i'd assume a modest portion would run you 400-500 calories and then the ice cream sundae. what's a half sugar bacardi breezer? alcoholic? sounds yummy!!

okay...so I did the elliptical for 1 hour today!! i was being lazy though, there was barely any resistance and i probably burned like 200 calories.

here's the eats

B: pumpkin pancakes (my new saturday treat) with maple syrup, a spinach and egg omelet, yogurt, and a small bowl of oatmeal ~ 650

L: piece of fish and broc/caul blend veggies, string cheese, tangerine ~ 320

S: protein bar and baby carrots~ 250

S: ice cream ~ 300

D: chili ~ 300

S: cheesecake ~ 180

TOTAL: 2000 plus a bit more for coffee and sweetner

Chrissy:
I really should of eaten an extra snack yesterday before dinner as I was weak with hunger, (I have to eat at least every three/four hours) but my ED is so much about control I couldn't do it. Today I did let myself lick (not litrally :P) the bowl after baking though - which I have never let myself do before.

I guess I probably did overestimate the meal out, it's just a way of coping with eating an unknown food I suppose. These are all habits I am hopsing to learn to overcome!

A half sugar bracadi breezer is an alcopop, it's a mixture of rum and fruitjuice, my favourite is the raspberry but it comes in watermelon, lemon, orange and bluberry too. It's a low % alcoholic drink which is good for me as I have no resistance to alcohol!

Today:

B: 50g cherrios with 1% milk + an orange + a fruit teacake with butter (490)

L: chicken and reduced fat mayo sandwich + crisps (chips) + homemade iced fairycake. (570)

S: homemade lemon biscuit (200)

D: two reduced fat sausages with mashed potato, swede and carrots + 100g B&J's half baked for dessert (600)

S: tomato and cucumber (20)

Total: 1880.

Was pretty much sedentry today as it is raining and freezing outside.

Emma: Sometimes licking the bowl can be better than eating the finished product, heh. What did you bake, if you don't mind me asking?

B: 2 hard boiled eggs (155), whole grain toast (84) w/light margarine (25)

L: Spinach salad (w/chicken, figs, walnuts, and ff poppyseed dressing, 352), butternut squash soup (156)

D: Bacon-cheese turkey burger wrap (350), homemade cheesecake for dessert (197). Side note on this, they just started carrying (or I just started noticing) erythritol sweeteners at my local grocery store, and the stuff works like a charm. Zero calorie, and no aftertaste? Yeah, I'm all over that!

Later: Pub w/friends - 3 light beers, 95 cals each, 285 total

Total: 1604

Kortlyn: nice to see you back!! meals look yummy as usual~

luckily i don't drink, have no desire to drink, and don't like the taste of alcohol, otherwise i might have to shift my treats around ;)

B: 2 hardboiled eggs, 1 ww bagel, 1 yogurt, 1 serving carrots, 1 protein bar, 1 tangerine [split into breakfast and morning snack]  ~675

S: ice cream~ 300

L: stir fry and a veggie burger ~ 300

S: string cheese, ww crackers and a cheese wedge ~ 250

D: chili ~ 300

S: cheesecake~ 180

TOTAL: 2005

wo: 70 minutes cycling, walking

I don't mind at all :)  I made iced fairycakes and lemon cookies today, both were lovely.

I bake at least once a week and make a few new meals or breakfasts a week - I have loads of recipie books from my obsessive anorexia but now I can actually eat the stuff in them it's amazing :D
