OFFICE TEMPTATIONS - Be the change you wish to see - YUMMY FRUIT SALAD MOVEMENT!
Thank you to each and every person who has ever brought in donuts, muffins or fresh baked goods into the office. They are delicious without a doubt. However, no longer are we in a day in age where we have small muffins, or small donuts, or small cookies. Those are a thing of the past and have fallen by the wayside. Instead we have muffins that look like cakes and giant cookies etc. And seriously, who eats 1/2 a muffin....we are doomed when we indulge. One extra large muffin could calorically be the equivalent of a full meal - NOT WORTH IT! Alas the extra large muffin has so kindly given all of us the 'muffin top'.
Let's not curb our generosity for our office pals, but instead move forward with a new way of thinking. If we must take muffins into the office, let's make them smaller...maybe even use unsweetened applesauce instead of sugar, bake cookies that are small etc. You get the picture. And I guess that means only eat 1.![]()
Better yet...why don't we all start the YUMMY FRUIT SALAD MOVEMENT! Think mangoes, strawberries, fresh pears, blueberries, kiwi, cantelope, melon, or any type of fruit! Higher in fiber, vitamins and damn tasty.
AS LUCK WOULD HAVE IT!..... We are on the cusp of summer fruit decadence! I challenge you all.... Fruit salad as an office treat without toppings - just pure sweet, drippy decadence!
BON APPETITE!
Yes! I concur.
I had for a few meals/snacks the following fresh fruit salad while on vacation a few weeks a go:
- pineapple
- red grapes
- mango
- strawberries
- cantaloupe
Bring on the fruit!!!!!!!!!!!
{I also ate a dozen or so Dunkin' Donuts chocolate-filled, sugar-sprinkled Men-in-Black doughnuts -- but that does not count.}
Drug reps in my doctor's office are the bane of my existence. Fortunately the government has cracked down on that type of "bribery spending" by the pharmaceuticals. It used to be, at any given time, the office would be overflowing with chocolate, cookies, and donuts.
I say we office workers, in addition to bringing healthy snacks, we:
(1) Pack our lunches and resist the urge to grab fast food
(2) Bring in an emergency afternoon slump snack (this is when I usually cave to the sweets hanging around). Instead I eat almonds or fruit.
(3) Eat a healthy breakfast before going to work! (For me, this means waking up at 5am)
GREAT SUGGESTIONS! Thanks for sharing!
