Has anyone tried this stuff? It's amazing! I'm in love with it! I can eat peanut butter without the guilt now!
What is it?
Well, I eat natural peanut butter without guilt daily but I also love PB2. I really like mixing the chocolate PB2 with my plain yogurt and dipping apple slices in it. Yum!
Michelle4kids: It's powdered peanut butter. Most of the fat is removed from the PB and you mix the dry powder with water. It has a lower fat, lower calorie profile than regular PB.
I went to the website. Does it thicken up once you mix it or what?
It's definitely not as thick as peanut butter but I suppose you could add more or less water to change the consistency to your liking.
I like it, but it is very expensive.
I have tried natural peanut butter and it is HORRIBLE...does it taste like regualr peanut butter or more like natural peanut butter?

It doesn't taste like either. I have a difficult time comparing it to either one because its flavor is pretty distinct. That and it's been such a long time since I've had something other than natural PB that I don't really remember what the other stuff tastes like.
Natural peanut butter isn't horrible, it's just not the same as the palm-oil, sugar-laden peanut butter most are accustomed to. Is it the texture of natural peanut butter that bothers you or the actual taste (because, to me, natural peanut butter tastes like fresh peanuts)?
Edit: Regarding cost, I agree: expensive! It's close to $5 per jar here and between my husband and I, we easily go through one a week if we're not careful.
blegh.
I'd rather have the fat-- it's WAY more satisfying and delicious that way.
fat is good for you.

I totally agree! And none of my peanut or almond butter is associated with guilt, but with delicious satisfaction.

real foods > fake processed foods any day!
healthy eating is all about learning to eat WHOLE FOODS in the proper portions, not de-fatting them, drying them, and selling them for 10x the price
haven't tried it but i love pb... i tried the bees knees all natural peanut butter and that is pretty good...esp with a spoon.
Ooo I am very curious to try this. I know real peanut butter is good for you but I want it every day and all the time which can be a problem hehe. I definitely will keep a lookout for this!
I much prefer natural peanut butter over PB2 but I like them both. If we have PB2 in the house, I usually eat both natural PB and the PB2 every day.

Have you tried it? Don't knock it till you try it! It isn't "blegh" at all and it is just as satisfying as regular peanut butter.
It is all natural. The only ingredients are: Roasted peanuts, sugar and salt. The only difference is that the oil is squeezed out of roasted peanuts and crushed to a powder form.

I don't think anyone needs to try this product. Just because it says "all natural" doesn't mean it's good for you. I'm not saying this PB2 stuff is bad for you, but the one thing that is good for you has been taken out! The fat- and has been replaced with sugar and sodium. The ingredients my peanut butter lists are: Peanuts. That's the way it should be.
I agree, neltuneliel - I'll keep my full fat peanut butter! No sugar needed.
I tis good to add a bit of guilt free protein to smoothies too

1. Yes I have tried it. It IS "blegh"
2. No, It is NOT as satisfying as the real thing.
3. It has extra sugar and salt added to it = no it's not natural
This is not fake at all. I'm pretty sure that peanuts, sugar, and salt are all natural things. Just because it isn't pure peanuts, doesn't mean that it is not natural. Smucker's Natural PB has added salt, as do their organic varieties. It's less processed than a lot of regular peanut butters and even better n peanut butter. Personally, I like PB2 because I have a hard time controlling myself around PB. If I buy a jar, I will eat like half of the jar in one sitting just with a spoon. Since I have to mix it up each time it makes me much less likely to eat a ton at a time. Plus if I want to eat a larger quantity it's not thousands of calories and grams of fat (even if it's the good kind). Side by side, I'm sure regular peanut butter tastes better, but I can't tell a huge difference.
The side effects of allergy medications keep some people from using them. Natural remedies can be a great alternative, but some are more effective than others.
