Probably for most b/c they have less sat. fat and cholesterol. I suppose it could be argued that they are "easier", too.  I like the real thing, myself :)

If I buy eggs, my roommate eats them and doesn't replace.  If I buy egg beaters, he won't touch them.  As far as the sodium, meh!, I'm going to salt my eggs anyhow.

it's all personal preference...although research has shown that if you don't have a heart condition or high cholesterol...the yolks in the eggs aren't a problem. so, i would say whichever you like the taste of better is the one that you should eat. being healthy isn't about replacing everything you like! =)

i dont care about yolks or whites just sodium.

thought it was awesome they had fewer cals but im gna just stick w the real mccoy since its hard enough for me to watch my sodium throughout the day w out havin to have 230 mg just w eggbeaters.

thnx for the opinions!

2 cups of egg whites is 240 calories while 2 cups of whole eggs is 714 calories! Yowza! While I personally believe whole eggs are very nutritious and are needed in one's diet... there is a point of going over board on them! If people want to make their meals look bigger and trick their brains into believing they are eating a lot... using egg whites is key! Not only will your meal look bigger, but your calorie count for the meal will be lower if some egg whites are substituted!

I find egg beaters pricy. I have a huge aversion to yolk so I tend to be wasteful with a carton of eggs. I think it's a personal preference. I just use egg whites from eggs out of carton and it works for me, even though I do feel bad tossing the yolks in the trash.

real e ggs are so delicious, especially the yolk so i have no clue, there is just no comparing.  i say, eat the real thing!

Egg Beaters are tasty and a very good substitute for "real whole eggs" taste and texture-wise, but they also have added colors, additives, and "flavors". I used to buy them but they are really expensive - it's cheaper and healthier just to buy several dozen eggs and get the whites out yourself.

beautifully said...stick to what you like and have good tasting food in moderation! that's what sustainable lifestyle changes are made of!! I admire you jesselou! fo those who don't have a preference that's one thing but you definitely should not give up everything you like in the sake of sparing yourself a few calories.

I really do not see the point in them. They taste like rubber, and why miss out on all the important nutrients to cut calories? Whole eggs provide more satiety, protein, healthy fats, vitamins, and minerals. And honestly, they really do not have that much fat and cholesterol. It's an unnatural fear.

And who wants all those processed additives, chemicals, artificial colorings and flavorings anyway?

haha thanks chrissy.

i feel pretty stupid for buyin em w out noticin the sodium content before hand.

oh well.

I use both. I eat 2 eggs everyday and sometimes I want eggs for breakfast too (I have eggs for lunch usually) and because of cholesteral in eggs I'm a bit weary of eating more than 2 a day, so I scramble some egg beaters and have that. :) Yolks are actually my favorite part of the egg, I can't see myself throwing it away and storing it kinda grosses me out, lol.

I use them cause egg yolks cause me to bloat/gas. I'm too lazy to separate out the whites. I love just being able to pour out of the carton too. Makes it really easy for morning breakfast!! I eat a four egg omelet every morning for 120 calories. High in protein so it is very filling.

Beaters are expensive, especially when one eats as much of them as I do. You can often by the store brand (Giant) for about $1.50 less then the beaters. The ingredients are EXACTLY the same.

Dietary cholesterol doesn't really have any affect on blood cholesterol, your body produces cholesterol naturally, if you aren't eating much your body will produce more if you're eating a lot your body will produce less.

For a girl on a budget I have to skip the eggbeaters and just go with the real thing, although I think nature is playing games with me because the other day I got an egg with two yolks....I've gone to the store with the best of intentions and meaning to buy eggbeaters or even the store brand because I felt really wastefull throwing the yolks away but I just couldn't do it.  So expensive for such a little carton!

Allergy Remedies
Is It Possible to Go Natural?
The side effects of allergy medications keep some people from using them. Natural remedies can be a great alternative, but some are more effective than others.
