Are Potatoes Healthy and Good for Weight Loss?

Yes! They're very filling and definitely good to eat. Try sweet potatoes (more fiber and more of some nutrients). Also top them with alternative and healthier choices than butter, salt, and sour cream. I go with greek yogurt and chives with some spices and herbs.

Go for it and enjoy!

Potatoes are not bad for you, thought too much of anything is not good. They are high in calories however your body needs carbs and this is a carb, a natural carb at that.

For some people carbs are bad but it's pretty rare and has to do with insulin release. This is something you can get tested for if you are really over weight. Judging by your profile picture you do no fit into this category.

In short, potatoes are good for you as long as you don't eat too many! :)

Potatoes (with the skin on) are an excellent source of potassium. DO keep the toppings low calorie and DO mix it up by eating different types/colors. The assorted colors of veggies mean they have different nutrients. :)

Great! Sounds like I'll keep eating them (without many toppings of course) and for fun I think I'll have to switch it up with some sweet potatoes. Thanks girl!

Ask any person who's lost weight the healthy way, and you will always hear about how healthy homecooked meals were a big reason behind it. Use less oil, low salt, fresh produce, and you'll start seeing results in no time.

Sweet potatos are great and really fuel you and fill you up. Try eating one before/after a workout! Yum!!!
