I loveee sloppy joes...sorry dont know the calorie count but i do know it contains the ground beef and the sloppy joe sauce.

Instead of using ground beef, use ground turkey to reduce the calorie count :)

Using 90% lean ground beef 3oz and 1 bun and 1/4th cup of the sauce is around 335 calories.  You could Use whole wheat buns and find some with lower carbs in them and reduce the calories or use 94% lean ground beef or w/e and reduce it a little more.  The meat isn't the problem its the type of bun and how much of the sauce you use because its like barbecue sauce its almost all sugar.

~ Cool thanks for your reply!!!

~ Frown wish i could use turkey instead of beef, but i just had that today for school lunch... yiikesss.... hahahah. but i only had like.. 1/4 of the entire "burger" hahaha. i had a friend who wanted mine. ~ like i said, since it's a school lunch, the quality may not be too good Foot in mouth

the kind i had was like...

  • pure white buns
  • ground beef (i can't really measure how much though. but it wasn't a lot AT ALL)

>>>>>>>  wow... i realized... that the reason why the meal look humongous was because the bun was huuuge and thick  hahaha!!!

Ochman's suggestion of approx. 335 calories for an entire sloppy joe is right on target.

I've made my own with lean ground beef and Manwich.  That's about 210 calories and the last plain old hamburger buns we had were 110 calories each. So my total of 320 is close to Ochman's 335.

I'd probably go with the 335. If you had about 1/3 of it, you could tally 112 calories; 1/4 = 84 calories. !/4 would be about a  bite.

ever since i saw this post i've craved sloppy joes.

LOL!!!! Me, too!

Ugh! Food triggers!

manwich? what's that? are hamburger buns (white ones) usually aroud 110 calories, give or take? hahaha, yeah i had 1/4. these days, i tend to keep myself full with water and diet coke lol.

The easy way to make Sloppy Joes at home is with a pound of ground beef and a can of Manwich (brand name). It has the sauce and spices to make it tasty and "sloppy".

We had some a couple of weeks ago on ordinary little white hamburger buns. I went back to my food diary and checked the caloric content for you and it was 110 for the bun.

Sloppy Joes are probably not high on the healthy list of foods. But as I am beginning my journey to permanent weight loss, my first concentration is eliminating snacks, junk food, but eating normal foods - just reducing portion size. I didn't want to make too many changes all at once and set myself up for failure.

By the way, instead of trying to keep yourself full with water and diet soda, why not at least eat an apple, celery with peanut butter, orange, or something that will fuel your body? "Feeling full" is not the point of living, but keeping "the machine" fueled and ready for fun, work, play is.

Yell Oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo~~~~~~~~~~!!! !!!

im craving SLOPPY JOES!!!!!!!!!!!!  Frown

freak! it's 1:28 AM!!!! Tongue out

Allergy Remedies
Is It Possible to Go Natural?
The side effects of allergy medications keep some people from using them. Natural remedies can be a great alternative, but some are more effective than others.
