even most vegetables contain at least one gram of sugar per serving...you'll be fine.

From what i have read you should aim to eat less than 40 grams of sugar per day. 40 being the maximum you want to intake.

Sugar is rife. You can't avoid it.

This month my daily average sugar intake is 74 grams, probably because I eat a lot of fruit (fructose) and I'd be getting some sugar from milk and yoghurt (lactose). Also I like Heinz ketchup and it has a fair bit. I was thinking I may try making my own sauce for just that reason...we can't find the low sugar version where I live.

Aside from bread I eat hardly anything pre-made (I did have four brandy snaps this month...they have sugar in them) and I rarely "add" sugar to anything (last month I had some molasses but I've pretty much cut it out now).

I read someplace you should try to keep sugar below something like 40 grams a day. Hah! I'd like to see someone manage that. I suppose if I cut out fruit, milk and ketchup...but I'm not willing to!

That 40g is in reference to added sugars - not the natural sugars found in fruits and veggies and milk. They mean the sugar you put in your coffee, or the sugars added to cereals and other packaged foods (granola bars, tomato sauces, etc)

You should limit added sugar to a maximum of 60 grams per day according to the Canadian FDA and the American Diabetes Association.

I eat a lot of sugar, mainly because I just can't find natural or low sugar foods which fill me up.

I sometimes can go over 100grams (including natural and added sugars) but I don't have an health or dental problems because of it.

^This.

If I counted all the natural sugars I ate, the number would be sky high. But I'm not going to limit healthy, natural foods like fruit and veg because of it.

Just count the sugar in packaged or processed foods and ignore the rest.
