I use that recipe all the time!! I do the chicken alfredo! I really like it!! BUT..i never used to eat fettuccine alfredo..so I don't really compare it to the real thing. It definitely took me a while to get used to the noodles..but they taste much better with the cheesy sauces (vs. tomato sauce)..make sure you dry out the noodles as much as possible like it says in the recipe..it really makes a difference. anyways..i like it a lot..but thats just me!

I don't know about the recipe, but as for the noodles, you'll either love them or hate them.  Personally, I love them.

i dont like shirataki noodles, i find theyre too soggy and at the same time rubbery. they have this weird taste. I would rather save pasta and fettuccine for a special treat.

i also dont like most of Hungry Girl's recipies.. like the chicken parm is terrible.... seriously. Dont waste the time trying to make it. I also didnt like the blueberry pancakes, they were crunchy and soggy in different spots, too weird.

I've been eating these noodles for over a year now. I have so many fun recipes. I love them! And the dishes I make are HUGE and never over 150 cals! :)

You can get them at Whole Foods & Vons/Safeway!

elizabthberg, to keep them from seeming soggy/rubbery, you can add like 1-3 egg whites... it really helps.

I lay mine on a towel for a few minutes to get all the water out and pat them dry. It does the trick.

I hate the fetticini noodles, but love the thinner ones.

The alfredo recipe doesn't even remotely taste like alfredo to me, but its OK for a meal if you add enough garlic.

im with minie13 - those fettucini ones are no good, but the spaghetti kind are fabulous.

hungry girl's alfredo definitely isn't real alfredo, but i thought it was a worthwhile substitute for sure.

Ewwie I can't stomach the noodles. I tried and tried but no go. Maybe I got a really bad bag? The taste was just ick (and I washed them good, and patted until my papertowel was falling apart) and they were really weird chewy gross.

I LOVE fiber gourmet pasta a lot lot more (just got done eating some actually).

I tried the cheese sauce too, and it was just ick. Really fake cheesy tasting. Almost like spreading cheez-wiz on rubber band fish. LoL that's the best I can come up with.

Lean Cuisine makes a not too bad chicken alfrado at 300 cals. Just a suggestion if you don't like HG's recipe.

I'm eating it right now.  I made it with 2 wedges of original laughing cow light cheese, a package of fettuccine shirataki noodles, and a cup of broccoli.  Added salt and pepper.  YUM!

Well I just tried the recipe with the tofu shirataki noodles.... YUK! I am a vegetarian and even when I wasn't I absolutely hated fish, both the smell and the taste. I rinsed for 5 minutes, microwaved for a minute and dried thoroughly, but they still smelled and tasted like yucky long dead fish. Don't know how from a vegan product, but I just couldn't take it. The texture was strange, but I probably could have dealt with that, but I just could not stand the smell and taste. I love tofu, so it must be the yam flour???

I think that is a terrible recipe.  Shirataki has a rubbery texture, so unless you want a gummy texture to a rich dairy recipe, go ahead.  But I think shirataki is great for the recipes it was meant to be served in - sukiyaki, soups, etc.

These are delicious!! You can make so many dishes with these things.  I am a huge italian fan and these satisfy my cravings for pasta.  I have made the standard spaghetti dishes to tuna tetrazzini, which is amazing, to spaghetti pie.  I haven't tried the alfredo recipe from hungry girl bc I am not a a huge fan of cream sauces but the tuna noodle casserole recipe is really good.  I usually make my own pasta dishes with what ever I have available.  I add tons of veggies, garlic, tomato sauce or a white wine sauce then whatever protein I have in the fridge.  Definitely recommend these!!

I am with the other shirataki haters. That stuff is nasty.

I agree with those who don't like the Tofu Shirataki noodles.  They smell and taste like rotten fish, and even if you could add enough stuff to hide the taste, they have the texture of a pile of rubber bands.  I understand there's another product called Miracle Noodles, which are plain shirataki (no tofu).  But since I've never had an issue with tofu before, I'm thinking they might even be worse!  I bought 2 packages of the Tofu Shirataki noodles and have just made the fettucine recipe.  I still have the bag of spaghetti shaped ones in my fridge and just about gag every time I see the package sitting there.  I, seriously, could not believe just how BAD these were! The sauce is okay - but I'd splurge on the rest of the calories and put it on normal pasta.
