ahh i'm just like you i eat TONS of veggies every day...zucchini,summer squash, broccoli, cauliflower (my favorite), peppers, brussel sprouts.... yeah i love my veggies too
i don't see why there can be any harm if you are getting enough, fat, carbs, protein, fruit..etc.

Yes i Eat a lotttt. For example 9 OZ carrots and one pint cherry tomatoes and 250 grams green beans.
I'm the same - I eat was over the daily amount needed of veg and fruit.
But I need to keep a close eye on whether I'm getting enough protein, carbs and fats...
Vegetarians seem to get along ok. I'm sure you're fine as long as you include enough beans and nuts to meet your protein requirements.
good to know there are others out there, i just love the veg taste, people call me a rabbit but veggies are the healthiest foods and i enjoy them the most i can eat them all the time and never get board. i only have to watch out about peas i can eat cups of them and they are not too great for you.
Eating a lot of vegetables is a great idea but make sure you're also getting a good amount of wholegrains and proteins to balance up the nutrition. Protein can come from meat, fish, dairy products, beans, nuts, seeds, tofu, quorn, pulses/legumes.... lots to choose from. Try to get a good-size portion of protein at each meal.
I am pretty sure the recommended serving size for vegetables is much much more than 1/2 cup. 1/2 cup is nothing.
(I've been following the South Beach diet, which recommends at least 1/2 cup veggies with breakfast, and at least two cups with lunch and two cups with dinner.)
I think in general one serving is 1/2 cup of cooked veg. or 1 cup of raw veg. Of course depending on how something is cut up, it's kinda difficult to get something to fit inside a measuring cup :p
bobo...why do you say peas aren't so great for you? Are you on a purine restricted diet?

I love cooked veggies. Tonight for dinner I had fish, 190 grams asparagus, 350 grams green/yellow beans, and 190 grams cauliflower!!!
Variety is what keeps me SANE!![]()
