What are some Very VERY VERY Low Calorie Snacks???
Sometimes I just want to eat something. I am sick of baby carrots. Is there anything I can eat as a snack and not worry about the calories. I just want to chew something, and I am not a fan of gum, it makes me very hungry. So please please please suggest something I can just snack on without too much counting involved :)
i love the lettuce, turkey and mustard idea, sounds yummy! and i had no idea jello was that low in cals. awesome!
With the Jello, just make sure to check the label and get sugar free jello. Sugar filled jello cups don't have a lot of calories, but definetly more than the sugar free ones :)
I think is good that there arent foods that are like 1 cal per cup, or you'd get some serious eatring problems - you'd stuff yourself silly on it, mindlessly eat, or turn to it in times of emotional need without 'feeling guilty' for eating emotionally, which isnt a good thing, and you'd avoid foods like nuts becuase they are high cal, despite being good for you.
But if you just want to snack, or give people the idea that you do eat (something I seem to be struggling with) then here's my list:
Grapes (frozen) - Bluberries and raspberries are lower in cals (higher in price)
Celery
Rice Bubbles - eat with a tiny spoon
If you wanna chew - normal sized carrots, cucumber and celery cut into sticks. Lollipops?
Make your own iceblocks with moulds, using juice and bluberries. Or Diet coke.
Then I'd mix these with higher cal foods, like PB, powdered skim milk and a bit of water, cottage cheese, crips [rice or pita bread crisps you make yoruself]nuts, or hommus dip, to make it healthier
You should be eating to energise yourself and keep your body healthy, not just to satisfy your stomach, so mix these low cal foods with high cal, nutrient rich foods.
You could live off diet coke and jelly, but you'd get super sick

raw fennel ... it's crisp like celery, with a bit of a licorice taste... cut into strips it's also easy to pack and take with you.

Celery stick filled with Tzatziki Yogurt & Cucumber dip
Dip is 35 cal per 30g or 2 tbsp and celery is 7cal for 40g
Crunchy and creamy at the same time!
All up a yummy snack for about 40 cal.

Cooked Acorn squash, with Becel Butter spray. one cup is less then 100 calories, butter spray 5 pumps is 0 calories, and its really filling, and great for cold days, cause its so nice and toasty.
It's kind of an acquired taste, but now I'm hooked on green and yellow squash! You can take a whole large squash, cut it up into little bite-sized chunks, and saute it with some butter-flavored pam, salt, and italian seasoning on medium-high heat until it gets tender. Sometimes I add a bit of worcestershire sauce. I love it! Plus, a whole squash (which really fills you up) is only around 50 calories.
why not air popped popcorn, sugar free jello, fruit smoothies, diet soft drinks, dry cereal (great if raving chips), of course any veg or fruit, but if you are really just wanting something other than that, I suggest your favorite snack, but just alittle portion...sometimes you have to treat yourself, dont deprive!
frozen grapes for sure
i tend to get a sour/salt craving... and creamy-- so i make a 100 cal pack of popcorn, and have it with lemon or lime juice and a laughing cow light swiss wedge (they have garlic and onion flavors now too... but they are strong!)... the sour juice on the popcorn is SO good and the cheese fills the creamy craving.
sometimes i put on mongolian fire oil, a little goes a LONG way and then you can hit all of the taste buds at once.
right now i just had 4 large celery stalks plus 2 laughing cow wedges... tummy is ultra full and the chewing need is gone.
i know you said gum makes you hungry, but what about really spicy cinnamon gum? i like the crunchy kinds, some of them are strong enough to make my eyes water and it kills the desire to eat.
and i second the lettuce turkey and mustard... my fave lunch plus cheese.

if its a chewing kinda thing instead of a hunger need, go for ice!
i eat ice constantly when i study.
you end up getting water, you dont have to count anything, and you satifiy your mouth's yern to chew.
I actually read somewhere that it takes more calories to digest celery than what are in it!
I munch on raw almonds - 5 almonds, 50 calories, and you aren't hungry any longer either.
the 100 calorie bags of popcorn are awesome.
i'm def getting that sugar-free jello next time i go shopping...and i recommend the 100-calorie popcorn :)
Radishes! Only one calorie per radish! They are sweet and spicy, really good with some low calorie dressing to dip into.
sigar free jello is out of this world yuuuuummmmmmmmmyyyyy. they have some awesome flavors.....mocha and stuff!!!! yummmyyy
