Water in a bottle
How many of you drink bottled water? As much as I hate the idea of paying for water because it's in a bottle, I often wonder if it's any better for you and where it comes from. The average tap water probably has a lot of contaminants. Lately I've had the idea of boiling my water and putting it back into the bottles. Any thoughts?

I buy bottled water but really its not much different. I just re bottle tap water and leave it overnight in the fridge, tastes much better then. But then I drink heaps (over 32oz) a day so I'd do broke buying water LOL.
i am a big bottled water drinker. I usually buy in bulk (24 for $5) or whenever it is on sale. But most of my water is from tap..Well I have a filter so I take the filtered tap water and boil it. Either way water is good :D
Most water from bottle come from a municipal source. Some waters have it right there on the bottle, others you have to search for its origins. Sadly, many bottled waters are actually more contaminated that our municipal waters because the regulating entity is the FDA which has fewer resources for contamination testing than the EPA which is the municipal water regulation agency.
Now, Iâ??m not saying I have never bought a bottle of water. It is very convenient. Itâ??s best to just get a bottle and fill with tap water. Get a Brita filter if you are very concerned. Boiling seems too much trouble for me. Drink plain ole municipal water if you live in a Western nation. You already pay taxes for its cleanliness, might as well take a swig.
Evian is naïve spelled backwards.

This question kinda came up on the shocking revelation that Aqua Fina is really just bottled tap water...
Consider putting in a filtration system, like a MultiPure. In the long run it is cheaper, without so much plastic trash.
I fill a bottle with water from my home pruifier and take it with me. Works great!

I find the tap water here tastes so much better than bottled water, so I drink that... Besides they add flouride to our tap water. Why waste the money, when you're getting a lesser product?
i got myself a brita pitcher, and it tastes really good. it costs me around 9 dollars or so to replace the filter every month, and i just keep it in the fridge so it's cold, and pour it into a water bottle. i can't afford to drink bottled water.
i buy a water bottle and just refill it...i have a 32 oz one with a straw built into it..makes it much easier to down the water and with dasani and aquafina saying thier tap water why waste your money on it every week.
My sister was paranoid about tap water being contaminated so she'd boil it and put it into empty milk jugs. And me being the arse I am used to salt it when she wasn't looking.
I like good ol' tap water. As long as nobody tells me horror stories, I can live obliviously.

Front Page News in today's paper...
An ingredient in plastic, abbreviated BPA is thought by many scientists to cause reproductive problems and/or cancer in women.
Google it, and reconsider that bottled water....not to mention what happens to the plastic. BTW, many nations on earth are ill equipped to do recycling.
