Weird meals you cook for yourself, but wouldn't in front of anyone else?
Hi, so I just made myself an odd concoction that I am currently omnoming on (and quite enjoying) and was just wondering if anyone else out there makes themselves "weird" meals on the reg?
For instance, I made myself a scramble of:
2 small zucchinis
1/4 cup brown rice
1/3 cup black beans
2 whole eggs
Serving of Guacamole on top
I'm in heaven right now but I am pretty sure if any of my friends saw me eat this they would be horribly grossed out.
I'm bored so share anything weird you make :)

That actually sounds quite good to me, though I don't much like guacamole.
I've made quite a few odd meals, but mostly with my one friend who has multiple food sensitivities. We made a really awesome spicy soup once, with beans and rice and some vegetables. It was really spur of the moment, but quite wonderful. We do a lot of curry-type things that I wouldn't make if I saw it in a recipe.

Me too! I don't think that sounds weird, it sort of sounds like a Burrito Bowl or something! Yum!
I'd totally eat that!
I always cook rice in large batches. When I need a quick dinner, I mix some with an egg and whatever vegetables I have in the fridge (onion, at the very least) and cook it in a patty.
Oooh, yum, that sounds delicious!
I sometimes just eat lettuce by hand out of a bowl, if that counts.
I also peel bell peppers before I cook with them, that one hard to justify to most people.
When I was a kid I used to love peanut butter marshmallow sandwiches, I would spend forever painstakingly slicing a jumbo marshmallow down for my sandwiches. My shyness set in when too many kids asked why my mom let me eat 'candy' for lunch so I switched to PB&J. In reality, I was probably getting less sugar from my single marshmallow than from the jam
omnoming :D hehe i love that phrase
i make a weird meal that i love and eat often, but not around others xD
I get some EVOO crisps, then mix 2 tins of tuna with a tub of quark with parsley and black pepper, and then get lots of fresh romaine lettce and cherry tomatos
I get a crisp, put some of the tuna mixture on, then dip it in ketchup, top it with a bit of salad, then put anouther crisp ontop like a silly little sandwhich and nom, a bit like nachos maybe? :/ ...no? ....no -.- its just plain bizzare
-i make pasta and put chopped turkey hotdogs and ketchup in it
-scrambled eggs with turkey slices and sf syrup
Me too! :)
I used to eat peanut butter by the spoonful (not anymore, I've been detoxing for a week and a half or so...hehe)
I make my own bean "burgers" by mashing them up in bowls or combining the beans, veggies and spices into the blender and POW! It looks kind of gross I guess.
I thought I was a weird eater but I guess I'm really not.
I stopped caring about what people think of the food I'm eating. Even if it looks like a bowl of sloppy throwup, it tastes pretty damned good.
Oatmeal mush --> A serving of maple and brown sugar oatmeal with a heck of a lot of cinnamon, and two whole eggs beaten in and cooked in the microwave. It becomes a gooey batter like mush which I top with maple syrup and a splash of milk.
Pumpkin 'Parfait' --> Pumpkin, cinnamon, vanilla yogurt and cottage cheese and rolled oats mixed together in a bowl. It would probably look fine except for those chunks of cottage cheese curds mixed throughout.
Other days I just throw veggies in a bowl and top with ketchup, franks hot sauce and nutritional yeast.

hey! dont judge until youve tried :p
I eat wholewheat spaghetti with ketchup, sometimes.
I also eat sushi rolls with garlic mayo occasionally. (Don't hate!! It is DELICIOUS.)
Pizza with caesar salad dressing.
I don't really cook weird things...
-bagels with cream cheese, pb, jelly, & turkey
-taco salad with a fried egg on top
-pancakes with sausage, syrup, banana, & a fried egg on top
-breakfast i have a lot is toast with egg whites and syrup on top & sometimes dipped in ketchup :x
-for dinner tonight i had a mix of noodles, lettuce, taco shell, salsa, sour cream, taco seasoning, chicken, & syrup
yeah i eat weird things... i just really like condiments haha
Well hmmm I'm glad you guys think my concoction sounds good! I guess it isn't too odd - just when I put it in a bowl it kind of looked like a sloppy pile of mush!
Sulfyr - your Pumpkin parfait sounds awesome! I want to try that. Do you cook it at all or do you just leave it raw as is? Mmmmm cinnamon and pumpkin totally reminds me of fall! And my meal did kind of look like it came from last night but it was comforting and warm to the max!
I could never get with the meat/maple syrup thing. Now that I'm a vegetarian I definitely couldn't but to me the meat and syrup should just not mix! Could be wrong though.
Pasta with plain yogurt as sauce. I used to do this pretty regularly
It is much better if you have some sort of tomato sauce such as arrabiata, and you dunk plain yogurt on top. Delish!
oatmeal....
@Brynn: Nah, it's been way to hot out the past little while to even dream of cooking or eating anything hot (minus the oatmeal in a slowcooker while I'm out of the house... but I still toss it in the fridge after anyways.)
Other odd concoctions I love to eat:
Fried eggs topped with cinnamon and maple syrup, with peanut butter dipped in the yolks.
Cold oatmeal mixed with fruit yogurt and crystal light for extra flavour. The crystal light turns the food into a colourful bowl of delicious mush.
Most of mine are just strange combinations that I use as snacks depending on what's left in my fridge, how much time I have or what's left of my daily calories.
-A big bowl of romaine hearts, or sugar snap peas (pods included) with sea salt
-Baby carrots with fat free cream cheese mixed with a packet of truvia. It's like a healthy cheat for a carrot cake/cream cheese icing craving.
-Crumbled feta mixed with either a packet of sugar or truvia. It's delicious and has the same kind of appeal as cream cheese icing.
-Raw red bell peppers. I eat them like apples and just bite right in.
-Microwaved veggie burger with brown sugar and cinnamon on top.
-Microwaved vegetarian chicken strips with ground cinnamon and a packet of truvia
One of the weirdest I've had was a bowl of cool whip free mixed with kashi strawberry fields cereal and topped with reddi whip. lol... it was awesome.
Spinach, tahini and banana smoothie
Stunsehs, your bowl of cool whip/reddi whip and cereal actually sounds great! I've made many a Reddi Whip& Fiber One bowl...to the dismayed looks of anyone who passed through the kitchen.
I boil lasagna noodles, spray with cooking spray, sprinkle parmesan cheese and a little salt on both sides and put under the oven broiler until crisp like chips. The lasagna chips are high in calories, sodium and not something I do often. But, they taste so good!
