What are some "weird" things/food combos you do?

I like to add extra nuts or granola to my peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.

Mix salsa or Tabasco with cottage cheese

Sprinkle salt on my watermelon

Ketchup. With everything. Better than having raw (like I usually do.)

Mustard and couscous.

Turmeric and oatmeal (Though this is really tasty for lunch, I think most people would think it's insane to have savory oats)

Cottage cheese and mango extract.

Gotta try salt and watermelon O_O

chocolate and cheese pizza or cheese on toast with choc spread(nutella)

good run cookies, pb, cashew butter, plain greek yogurt, cinnamon, cocoa powder, baby carrots, and fruit

ketchup in anything

beef, grilled veggies, rice, ketchup, and soy sauce

lots more i cant remember lol

  • A nutella and strawberry cream cheese toasted sandwich on honey wheat bread!- try it!!!
  • Cottage cheese w/ cocoa powder, whipped cream, and cereal mixed in
  • i like carrots with reddi-whip, its delicious!

My family gives me really weird looks for all of these... i love them though

ETA: i used to always eat my watermelon w/ salt!!!, i like it better plain now though

Oatmeal with sugar free maple syrup and unsweetened cocoa powder (sooo amazing...it's like chocolate oatmeal for 200 cals or less!)

Oatmeal with Parmesan cheese and hot sauce (I love savory oatmeal too--I know it's weird)

Whole wheat bread with jelly and cottage cheese (I always get weird looks for that one)

Cottage Cheese mixed with baked beans (I'll pretty much eat cottage cheese with anything--eggs, beans, on a sandwich, etc)

Peanut butter and pickle sandwiches.  I've had them since I was a kid, and you wouldn't think they'd be good unless you've tried them...

Potato chips with ketchup! (before any of you think that's gross...remember that french fries are made from potatoes!Wink)

I've heard of people eating watermelon with salt. It sounds really good!

I like to dip cookies in apple sauce.

I second the ketchup on everything, grilled broccoli + ketchup is out of this world!

if you like turmeric I usually put paprika in my savory oats and sometimes I put smoke mesquite liquid that you would use to marinate steaks which is ironic since I don't eat meat.

  • raw cocoa powder in anything.  (e.g. oatmeal, plain yogurt, baked zucchini, or just by itself)
  • crystal lite stirred into cooked oatmeal or oat bran
  • tofu mashed up in oatmeal
  • a slice of raw extra-firm tofu spread with almond butter
  • applesauce mixed with uncooked oats
  • pb-applesauce sandwich
  • plain greek yogurt with mashed pumpkin
  • spinach leaves mixed with mustard and stevia
  • tofu-pb or tofu-avocado sandwich

Jelly and cream-cheese sandwiches are a Philadelphia classic, so, no, I don't think this is that weird.  And my grandmother salted her watermelon.

Peanut butter and . . . cheese, or dill pickle, or lettuce, or, well, almost anything.

PB&J on a tortilla.

Sliced green grapes on vanilla ice cream or ice milk.

Broccoli with hot sauce!

Chips or french fries with chocolate ice cream, especially if the chips are salty. I don't know why, and it sounds gross but it is amazing.

Chips in a sandwich (I don't know why these all involve chips)

Peanut butter on dried fruit

I'm sure there are more

i put butter and salt on my oatmeal...

I forgot one that's surprisingly delish: half-boiled cauliflower dipped in sugar or milk powder.

plain greek yogurt, a dash of instant coffee crytals and a dash of the pink enveloped fake sweetner, mix it super fast with a teaspoon and it simply taste like creamy coffee heaven Innocent

I put sea salt on my oatmeal too!

Salt is a flavor enhancer, and any self-respecting Southerner knows that a good watermelon deserves a sprinkle.  Also, I like a watermelon-tomato salad...sometimes topped with a little goat cheese.

And freshly ground black pepper on cantaloupe.

Allergy Remedies
Is It Possible to Go Natural?
The side effects of allergy medications keep some people from using them. Natural remedies can be a great alternative, but some are more effective than others.
