Peanut butter is insanely popular on these forums - so let's put together some of our favorite PB combinations! Personally, I am a fan of the good ol' PB&J sandwich (these days I've been using maple PB and mango/peach jam. So yum!)

What are your fave ways to use PB?
Sandwich ideas would help, too!

Food network magazine suggests making a peanut butter, banana, and bacon sandwich, then putting it on the skillet grilled-cheese style. Elvis would have approved.

I found that if I don't mind going off my nut on calories, adding a cup of peanut butter to the rice crispy-marshmallow treat recipe (10.5 ounces of marshmallows and around 6-8 cups of cereal) is really rather yummy.  If one wants to really go off the nut, he/she can also add 8 ozs. of Reeses pieces to the mixture.

  • pb + mashed silken tofu, mixed together and eaten between two slices of ezekiel bread.  It tastes like a mock egg salad sandwich.  Sometimes I also add mashed avocado to the mix.
  • banana, cut in half and spread with pb (or another nut butter)
  • pb-honey-banana sandwich or pbj on toasted raisin bread (so comforting!)
  • in oatmeal: pb + cocoa powder ORpb + mashed banana OR pb&j
  • breakfast sandwich: toasted ww english muffin, morning star 'sausage' patty, and 1 T. pb

I buy the all-natural kind of pb.  I like the Mara Natha kind with a hint of sea salt.  I also love other kinds of nut butters: almond butter, cashew butter, etc.  My favorite is sunbutter, made from suflower seeds.  :)  This can easily be made at home using roasted sunflower seeds, a little vegetable oil, and a food processor.

  • PB and apple slices
  • PB and bacon
  • PB and Cinnamon
  • PB and banana

bananas and strawberries go best with peanut butter I think. blueberries go okay as well.

I haven't tried peanut butter with bacon but since hearing about it, have been considering it. Also heard of peanut butter with chili, want to try that too but never have.

I also like making popsicles by making a shake with vanilla protein powder, milk, and peanut butter, and then putting them into popsicle moulds to freeze.

And I like just adding peanut butter by itself to oatmeal (after it's cooked, but while it's still warm). It turns into a fudge-y consistensy.

i eat it with EVERYTHING.

but this morning i had a new combo that was awesome.

  • seeded wholemeal batch bread spread with crunchy peanut butter and scrambled eggs on top.
  • 3 tsp on a tuc crackeer. very morish!

yah it's like a flavor explosion lol! i love it, but i guess it's not for everyone, my younger brother thinks it's weird... :P

PB + marshmallow fluff whipped together, rolled into bits the size of ping pong balls, dipped in sugar, and then refrigerated for an hour. Yeah, I know. :3

Mmm a lot of these sound very good! i've tried a krispy cakes type recipe made with pb as another poster suggested and it was rather lush.

the other day i made a sandwich filling from a book called peanut, carrot and alfalfa. it was grated carrots and alfalfa sprouts mixed into a combo of PB, mayo and natural yogurt mixed together. i threw salt, pepper, sultanas and lemon juice too. i know it sounds insane but it tasted yummy and really different from most peanut buttery things.

Sweet jesus O_O

Ahahah. I made that "recipe" up when I was about 11 years old and playing in the kitchen while my parents were out.

I had them sitting in the fridge and all I can remember is coming back to get them the next day and half of them were gone. lol

Home-made Reese's PB cups - Melt a whole lot of chocolate chips. Take a cupcake liner and pour melted chocolate on the cupcake liner. Then, take a big spoonful of your favorite PB and put it on top of the melted chocolate. Pour more melted chocolate on top. Put in the fridge for a few hours. Come back and retrieve you home-made peanut butter cup!

Allergy Remedies
Is It Possible to Go Natural?
The side effects of allergy medications keep some people from using them. Natural remedies can be a great alternative, but some are more effective than others.
