Zero Carb cookies

Are there ANY zero carb cookies or pound cakes? And if there are where do you get them?

What's so good about eating no carbs anyway? Carbs give you energy!!!

You could make like...raw peanut butter balls with cocoa mixed in and then freeze them?

Brownies can be made pretty low carb too, especially if you make the 'black bean brownies' which I have yet to make but have heard they're very tasty. Sure, beans have carbs...but all the fiber cancels out the carbs anyway.

Fish and egg white cookies. Flour-free, sugar-free- just fish and egg whites.

In all seriousness, Hokieokie said it best- if you want higher proteing try using blackbeans, but even those have carbs.

If you're going to have cookies- have cookies. Use a higher-fiber flour like coconut flour if you want to increase your fiber intake. Few foods have ZERO carbs (fish, egg whites, meats) even peanutbutter has carbs. If you cut out carbs, you severely restrict what ingredients you can use.

No carb diets make you exhausted and grouchy anyway.

There's a reason why even the Girl Scouts couldn't sell those, haha

only where the unicorns roam and the leprechauns are swimming in gold coins!

hokieokie thanks for your reply...Recipes will be checked out!Wink

fenrik_reinsdyr I want no cookies with fish! But, the high fiber flour is a good idea

zebulancherry I realize carbs are your friend, especially complex carbs that are in beans & potatos, BUT, I am on a very low carb diet for a period of time...it's one of the best ways to loose weight quickly (keeping your fat calories in check at same time)...Shortly I will begin eating more complex carbs...

giasbash6260 Aw, come on now, technology has to have advanced a little where they can make a low or zero carb cookie (one that doesn't have fish!) ...

Here's a recipe I like to make! Only around 10 carbs per baby ball.

You can make it many other ways though, by adding peanut butter instead of dates(that'll cut the carbs somewhat), or adding walnuts instead...etc etc. You could also even add butternut squash to it and cut down on the other things somewhat to make the calories less.

I'm surprised no one has suggested this:

sugar-free, flourless peanut butter cookies. so simple...

1 c peanut butter

1/2 - 1 c splenda (depending on your sweet tooth)

1 egg

mix and bake.

they're pretty damn good!

Why has no one suggested meringue cookies? they are just egg white, cream of tartar(no not tartar sauce for the fish), and sugar( sugar sub if going no carb). they are kind like a mix of a cookie and a pound cake anyway.

I've tried this Protein Cake before. I don't count carbs so I'm not sure if it has zero carbs but it does look low carb*. The taste isn't too bad... the texture is a little like angel food cake (though it squeaks while you're eating it.. it's weird). Anyway, this isn't a bad cake substitute but it's no piece of Devil's Food Cake or anything.

*Edit: I just used the recipe analyzer for the cake... Using canned pumpkin, which would be lower in carb than applesauce, one cake has ~6 g carb.

I said "carb" way too often in this post.

Thanks for ALL your kind replies...They are appreciated and will be tried! I am just dying for something that resembles a cookie or a piece of cake...I NEED A FIX!

P.S. I do LOVE peanut butter...Even though it has 7 carbs per 2 tablespoons!

Yes! I have too! To the OP - you should give it a try. It is more cake-like if you use rice protein instead of whey though, but it's still a nice snack option. I like to make them and top them with a mixture of Greek yogurt and peanut butter.

Damn, Zeb, this protein cake sounds pretty good...I've got to get the ingredients...Smile

Hey Gator, you know what you should do... you should just bake butternut squash (cut into circles) & sprinkled with cinnamon... and you can slice em as thick/thin as you want depending on if you want crunchy "cookies" or moist "cookies"... I just baked myself a BOAT LOAD of butternut squash and man I cannot keep my hands off them! ha ha! :)

Hey gia, you just might have something here...and it sounds easy, too!Tongue out

Alright so I made this this morning for my post-workout grub.. Holy crap, it's amazing! I had to make two it was so delicious, lol. My variation to it, was that the protein powder I had on hand was vanilla flavored, so I didn't add the cocoa powder. I used pumpkin, and added a bit of ground cinnamon before microwaving. I added 1/2 TB of PB on either half after it was done cooking.. Serious wow factor for me. I plan on making it a staple, lol.
