Biggest loser Season 12 challenge group!!

Quote  |  Reply

So the new season of biggest loser is upon us, ababehschick had an awesome Idea, Lets try a challenge following the biggest loser. It works like this

Find your age group and follow their team percentages for the week. since trying to keep up with their percentages would be crazy, shoot for 1/4 of their team percentages.

Example: I am 27, therefore i'm in the young group, so their percentage was 4.31 divided by 4 thats 1.01% for the week!

Some weeks will be more, and some will be less :)

week 5! (i'm finally on the right week, sorry all)

Blue-  your goal this week is 0.67%
Red- Your goal this week is 0.63 %
Black- you have two options
&nb sp;  whole team- your goal is .72%
or
&nb sp;   Sunny's %, your goal will be 1.45% (this option because sunny rocked it and saved the whole team and only her weigh in counted.)

You can do it!!!

Come join us!

I'm watching Biggest Loser now.  I think I've only seen it once before but I want to watch it now because of this challenge.

I am a horrible stress eater, too.  I have to say that there are fewer things as relaxing or enjoyable to me than sitting on the couch watching tv or internet surfing and snacking on carbs of some kind.  Unfortunately, that makes me fat.

I am on Day 14 of my current fitness program and I have cut out most carbs.  The fewer carbs I eat, the easier it is not to want to snack nonstop.

I think tomorrow's weigh-in will be good for me, even after my Sunday afternoon High Tea put me back a bit.

Right on! just remember we need carbs for energy! awesome for being on day 14, i'm on day one of insanity program with a friend of mine. ow. we did the fit test today, i'm excited to see how we are in two months. but sore. and tired. very tired.

for my post workout protein i'm having a greek yogurt with honey, OMGosh its good.

I just finished watching the Biggest Loser, and I am hoping that it will give me some motivation to push through this week.

The red team lost 2.18 percent of their weight.  1/4 of this would be .545%.  I guess I will weight till the morning to see what my target loss for the week is.

Okay...  Updates for this week:

Starting weight: 180.6  (Required loss of 1.7% or 3.1 lbs)

9/28/11 wt: 178.4  (Loss of 1.2% or 2.2 lbs...  not too bad for a week!)

Next week's goal: .6% (1/4 of 2.38% lost by black team this week) or 1.1 lbs

I'm on the black team.

Starting weight last Wed.:  197

CW:  193

Loss:  4 lbs which is 2.03%  Yippee!

Next week's goal for this challenge:  1.158 lbs

I'm red!

SW: 227.6

CW:225.3

Loss: 2.3 lbs.

Percentage: 1%

Arg, not quite to where they are, but I'm not too discouraged because it's been since friday, so I think if I had started last weds, i'dve been fine.

Haven't watched the show this morning, I'll edit the original post when I'm done.

SparklingT, AWESOME!!!

BetsyT: 1.2% is GREAT!

This morning I weighed in at 163.8.   My target weight loss for the week is .9 lbs, but I am going to round it up to 1lb

Goal - 10/5 - 162.8

Spark - 4lbs is AMAZING!!! Great Job!!!

Betsyt - 1.2% weight loss in only a week it great!!!  Keep it up.

I posted it in the original post, but i'll do it here too. sorry its so late, I wasn't able to watch it till later today was crazy.

Week 2 Percentages!!

Red team: 2.18%  (for us: .545%)
Black Team: 2.38% (for us: .595%)
Blue Team: 1.2% (for us: .3%)

This week should be kindof an easy week. if you want to go for more, go for more!!

Personally I'll be trying for 1%

For me that means my goal is 223.5.

CCSW 199.9

CSW 197

CW 190.5

Loss for the Week 2.5 = 1.3%

I REALLY wanted to get into my 180s by today, but I am close, so that's good.  I'm still counting calories and walking/doing elliptical 6 miles a day.  I went over my calorie limit by about 400 one day, but considering everything I'm doing right, I wasn't too upset about that.

Go black team!  (I did not catch the show yesterday - busy day.)

Okay...  Updates for this week:

Starting weight: 180.6  (Required loss of 1.7% or 3.1 lbs)

9/28/11 wt: 178.4  (Loss of 1.2% or 2.2 lbs...  not too bad for a week!)

10/5/11 wt:  176.0  (Loss of 1.35% or 2.4 lbs)

Next week's goal: 1.15% (1/4 of 4.58% lost by black team this week) or 2 lbs

10/5 goal 162.8

10/5 actual - 164.8.

Ugh, instead of losing a pound, I gained one.  Oh well, I have not been eating well, and it is TOM, so we will see what next week brings.

For next week i think the red team lost 2.93%, but I don't totally remember.

For me this means that my goal is 1.2lbs.  I am really motivated after a terrible week last week, so I am excited to see what i can do.  Great job to everyone who is losing!!!

Great Job everyone!!

Mine for today was 223.2! which was .3 under what I needed for this week. :)

I'm about to watch the show and i'll post more!

Tomorrow is weigh-in for this group.  I've been REALLY good with calories and exercise and the scale is dancing around the same place.  This morning I am exactly what I was on the last weigh in.  I am very frustrated.  I expect plateaus, but not this early in my program.  The last time I was this good for this long, I lost between 15 and 20 pounds the first month of following the plan, then about 10 a month for the next few months.  I truly don't know why it's taking longer to lose this time around.  I'm walking getting 6 miles of exercise a day!  That last time, I only did 3 miles a day for the first 5 months or so.  I am kicking it up a notch this time because I want to get to my goal quicker!!!  Arggghhh!!!

Tomorrow, I'd better be in my 180s.

Sparkliingt - How much water are you drinking?  I have found that if I do not drink a lot of water, my body holds onto weight, and even gains.  Also, if you are exercising a lot, make sure that you are eating enough calories.  If you do not eat enough, your body will hold on to food.  I hope this helps.

Whats the phrase? Abs are not made in the gym they're made in the kitchen. I think thats what it is, but i'm not sure I haven't seen t for a while.

How has your eating been? and Amilee is totally right with the water. it was weird, last weekend i did terrible, we had some folks come over and they left all this soda, I of course drank it and couldn't figure out why i was grumpy. I finally started drinking water again and not soda and felt so much better. its weird how good it is for you.

trying to switch my workout to the morning instead of the evening is killer. I need to go to bed earlier. :(

I realize that looking at my post i didn't end up posting the darn percentages! grrr, sorry. its been a crazy week. I'll do better this week!

I am drinking enough water, but maybe going too low in calories for walking 6 miles.  I'm going to try upping my calories by 200 - 300 on the days I walk 6 miles and keeping as-is if I only get 3 miles in.  I'm doing 6 more than 6 though, by far, so it looks like I'll be eating more...

I'm watching the show now and looking forward to tomorrow morning's weigh in.

Thanks, guys!

hey I actually was able to watch the show tonight after my kids went to bed!!!

Week 3!!

Red Team: 2.93% ( 0.733 %) you can totally do this!

Black team: 4.58%  (1.145 %) we've got this!

Blue Team: 4.34% (1.085%) only about 1% you guys got this.

This week should be good!

Can't wait for everyone's weigh in tomorrow! I'm a little nervous.

Calorie Count Start Weight 199.9

Challenge Start Wwight 197

10-5-11 190.5

10-12-11 190.25

Loss for the Week .25 or ?% (low, whatever it is)

Loss for the Challenge to date  6.75

I REALLY wanted to get into my 180s by today, like I said this time last week.  I am still close, so I have to think of my successes.  I upped calories a little yesterday since I'm exercising a lot, although not high intensity.  I did have a huge bowl of salty soup last night, so maybe I'll see a big drop from today to next Wednesday morning.

Go black team!  And good luck everyone else, too!

Last Week Weight - 164.8

Goal - Lose 1.2 lbs

10/12/11 - 163.2 (-1.6lbs)

For next week, my goal is to lose .733% which is 1.2lbs again.  I can do this...

Admittedly I have been dragging my feet about posting today because I am ashamed of what I have to post, but here it is...

(What really sucks is that I had one "bad" meal and one night had a couple of drinks, but other than that stayed ON TRACK!)

10/12/11 wt:  177.8  (GAIN of .9% or 1.8 lbs!)

Next week's goal: .53% (1/4 of 2.12% lost by black team this week) or .94 lbs  (BUT I'm going to shoot for 2.94 lbs to re-lose the 1.6 lbs I gained thsi week - fingers crossed!  I have a 5k on Friday and will be training today and Thursday for that & hiking on Sunday, so here's hoping!!!!!!!)

Allergy Remedies
Is It Possible to Go Natural?
The side effects of allergy medications keep some people from using them. Natural remedies can be a great alternative, but some are more effective than others.
