25 pound challenge: Jul-Nov '09
This is a continuation group for the members of "25 pound challenge" which started in Feb and is to end June 30th. I know many of us need to continue in our goals, and to kick it off I decided to start a new group -- hopefully this will give us extra motivation too!
The woman who started it all "pook" had the following original post, and I wanted to post it here so that we have the same ideas/goals/points.
I hope to see all the members of the old group, and any additional people who would like to join us!

I’m looking to start a support and accountability group whose main goal is to lose 25 pounds by the end of November. That’s about 1.5 lbs a week, which I think is very doable. I’m looking for folks who are losing with healthy diet and exercise, any plan is fine, but no “cabbage soup” fad diet nonsense, no pills, etc. Just healthy lifestyle changes.
Goal: To lose 25 pounds by November 30th.
Motto: Who dares, wins!
Members: Anyone with 25 or more pounds to lose.
Post: Daily if possible. Post goals, daily food and exercise stats, problems, anything related to your weight loss journey. Post tips, articles, stories, anything helpful or motivating. Post recipes and exercise routines too, if you want.

I'm ekai, 25, 5'11. I like to exercise and lift weights, but nothing specific because I switch it up a lot. Anything that makes me move is good! I need to eat 1200 calories a day in order to lose weight but I need some encouragement because I've not been sticking to it lately... that's where you guys come in!

175lbs is my first major weight loss goal!!! I'm so pleased to be here! Got in my wetsuit yesterday as well!! I am so pleased and so motivated to reach 160 :DHi every one, I weighed in this am at 211 with BMI of 32.1 so things are slowly progressing downward. It does not seem like it is going very fast but when I look at the graph it is a steady downhill ride. Praise God for that, We will all make it if we stick together and keep on logging our calories. Aloha, is it okay if I join? I started to lose weight around July 24, and since then I lost 16 pounds.. I'd like to join this group because even though I wasn't a part of it, I had 30 pounds to lose, and my goal was to lose it by November 1st! So I was a member in spirit! Ahaha.. uhm..

I'm Sara, 17, 5'6.... I'm a runner, long-distance, who fell off the track this year, but have picked myself up again recently... I'm training for a half-marathon, but currently my longest run is 10 km.. not too close... I also like to lift weights and bike. My current calorie intake average has been around.. 1300-1600, and I feel comfortable with that. I think my goal, having 11 more pounds to lose, is a pretty doable one.. I need to lose a little over 1.5 lbs a week, so I should eat around 1300-1600 calories and burn around 400-700.
I'd really like to get back to my "glory days weight" because I felt a lot better back then, and I'd like to not worry about eating some junk if I want to. I'd like all my old clothes to fit again, and not have such a problem finding clothes that fit right. I'm a huge pear shape, so the smaller I am, the less drastic it looks.

So far I had 475 calories today...all bad things. We'll see how I do this time around. I've really just got to stop eating so much. I know its stress-induced/comfort eating....knowing is half the battle

I'm up.....and going on up higher before this is over with. I'm on steroids for my leg pain in my thigh. It's awful! I'm eating like there's no tomorrow! I'm so freaking hungry all the time!!!! BUT I do have energy. Just can't do any walking until this calms down some. There's inflammation around the nerves in my back. GRRRRRR
wow i'm eating a lot! a lot alot... am pretty sure it'll stop and it'll have to cos i don't want to put more than a pound on..
hmm sounds like i'd better be feeling better tmrw and get my ass in the gym!
