Week 7 Challenge ~ Emerge a Butterfly!!!  Thursday, 10/19 - Wednesday, 10/25

So, what's up for week 7 ~ Emerge A Butterfly???

It's the Grand Finale ~ Game Plan Week!  A chance to look back and note the changes in our plans!  Plan for the Upcoming Holidays!  Figure out how to continue our Journey!

Ready to read all about it and pick up your Week 7 challenge and parts here!  No points sheet for week 7!

The Points!  This week is a little Different!  This week we're not doing points by part!

  • In Part 3, we ask you to email your brain bender answer to brain.bender@hotmail.com for a trick or treat!  The Games Coordinators will give your bonus points for the brain bender to your scorekeeper.
  • In Part 8, we would like you to share your "Game Plan" and post it on the Team Submission Thread for a trick or treat!  The Games Coordinators will give your bonus points to your scorekeeper.
  • No points for Part 2 ~ it's just some fun information and quizzes that look back over the games
  • No points for Parts 1 and 5 ~ it's all about you and your goals!  Do you want to take a minute to look back at your goals when you started.  See how far you've come?  Maybe plan a bit for the future?
  • No points for the rest of the Parts like Part 4 Main Dish Recipes, Part 6 Googled Links, and Part 7 Motivation Statements ~ thought we would share the submissions from everyone.  You can bookmark these for later when you have more time to peruse or want a new recipe to try?
Need the New, Updated & Current Games DirectoryTeam Roster?

pssst!  1 last leetle thing! If you are still participating in the Challenge, then you have won!  Perhaps you even learned a little more about what you like and dislike, what you enjoy, and perhaps you set a few new goals.  Perhaps you discovered new tools and the wealth of health, nutrition and exercise information available here at calorie-count and on the net.  Perhaps you met a new friend or two, strengthened your friendship with old friends,  enjoyed the journey together.

The really gr8 news!  The games may be over but we don't have to part!  We look forward to seeing you around calorie-count for a long time to come :)

Cheers, United2gether, Garnet77, Kalkette, Beanie1125 ~ your Friends & Games Coordinators :)

I don't think we have a submission thread yet, I will copy this over when I see one...

Here is my Super Food Link for the month: Pumpkin (appropriate)

Part 7

My choice for this part is Hubbaji's statement, if you read my statement you can see that it is influenced by his. I like the theme that "healthy eating" sounds so simple that we often beat ourselves up for not instinctively knowing what it really means, and in doing that we make it more complicated than it actually is.

If there is one piece of knowledge, information, whatever that I have learned since starting my journey to better health it has to be, "You must eat to survive". Sounds simple enough, don't it? But, how many people truely understand that simple statement? Whether we want to gain weight, lose weight or simply maintain a healthy weight - we have to eat enough in quantity as well as quality to nourish our bodies. It is not a matter of eating or avoiding foods, it is all about sensible, healthy choices. Take care of your body and it will take care of you. Julius Erving said it best, "If you don't do what's best for your body, you're the one who comes up on the short end."
Part 1: 10 Part 2: 10 Part 3: 10 Part 4: ---- Part 5 : 100 total a. 25 Part V(b): 50 25 (Extra sparring time) Part 6: ------ Part 7: 25

(I also choose Hubbaji's statement; I really enjoyed it.)

Player Roll Call ~ Please confirm with your team that you still want to play, by Sunday, October 1st.  Thanks!

Hi Everyone.

Life happens and we've had some players drop out and some captains have to withdraw because of life, illness and emergencies.  All quite understandable.

Truly, these games are meant to be fun.  A little inspirational and a bit thought provoking.  They are not meant to be a burden or like school or work.

So, if you want to continue with the games and play, please let your team know this week by Sunday, October 1st that you still want to play.

At the end of this week, we will merge teams and put active, enthusiastic players together so we can all go forward with people who want to continue.

We will continue to do this if anyone and for anyone who wants to continue.  Now is your chance to quit.   No big deal...  If you don't want to play, just don't post anymore to your team.  Simple as that.  If no one wants to continue, we'll just quit.  Thanks.  I'll will be back next Monday to see who is still playing and we'll go from there.

A new challenge will go up Thursday morning that simply says...   Do your normal goals for the week for points.  Do your normal exercise for the week for points.  And think about why you eat and exercise for your week 6 motivation statement.

That's it.  We'll use week 4 to combine and consolidate if anyone wants to continue.

Thanks, jules  Games Hostess
Re: Captain resigned

I'm begining to think it's me... this is the second team captain I've lost....

Anyways if anyone is able to take on the team captain role I would really appreciate it. I was not able to act as effective team captain for the Gut Busters, and I don't think I can do so for this merged team.... I can continue with the scorekeeper role, but that takes a lot of additional work now that I'm tentatively tracking 18 members that may or may not be playing.

A team needs a captain that can really take the reings, rally people and generate discussion on a thread. Posting team points will get dull very fast.

I cannot handle captain and scorekeeper. I would really appreciate some help on the more social front of running the team and cheering on.
Hello All,

I'll volunteer for the recipe portion this week. Here is the link to my recipe for my Mum's Chicken Vegetable Soup.

http://www.calorie-count.com/recipe/6246.html
Let me know what I can do to help!!!!
Show up, chat, encourage the team.... take the lead with getting people to check in (I think that's the hardest bit)....
Thanks to all who liked my motivation statement - It was simply speaking, what I have learned over the years - I just hadn't realized it until joining C-c and somehow that knocked it into my skull. Having said that, I like Deb's statement too:

Debcowan

Welcome to CC - more than just a "diet site" you've found tools and a huge community here to support you in finding a healthier lifestyle!  Don't feel like you have to change everything at once.  Little changes add up big time, add something new every day or every week or even every month.  You can do this, and you are worth it!  It's not about becoming the perfect person with the perfect body.  It's about being healthy so you feel good and enjoy all the rest of what life is about!

Oh, and Supersized - I'm not captain material but I'll help out as I can.
I have submitted/emailed my brain bender answers

Go team!
For part 7:

I actually am partial to mine, lol. But I really, really like this one too!

And the super food link!

As for a recipe, I'd volunteer but I really don't cook anything other than veggies and the occasional Italian dish. I could steal a recipe that I know I LIKE from somewhere though...? Lemme know.
Hi Glamstarlett,

If you can grab a recipe you know you like I think that's fair, we need to submit recipies today. So much appreciated if you can.
