January Weight-Loss Challenge

Quote  |  Reply

This is a place where we set a goal for the month for weightloss, a goal set by you, based on your needs and abilities.  Just put your stats and your goal by the end of January!  We've done a November and December challenge.  Weigh ins usually occur on Fridays, some people weigh in on Tuesdays as well.  Up to you.  Good luck!

wtg joeypearl! Just keep at it, you will get there!

I am not on track to meet either.  But someone somewhere said something about the only true failure is failing to try - and WE TRIED!  So, we just keep pluggin' away at it and set new goals and continue to strive for those goals.

I also LOVE the "new month reset"!  Everything is fresh again and we have a whole new opportunity to set a goal and make it! :)

I know that I failed because I didn't try hard enough and let my lack of motivation get in the way.  I have 26 days before I have to climb back into a swimsuit and shorts for a weekend.  I am not all that excited!  I am determined to do something with myself.  I know 26 days won't do much for me, especially since I know I'll have a few rough days in there, but I will do my best.  I put a small notebook with a pen in my purse so that I can track all the time without having to access a computer all the time.  We'll see how that works for me.  Now just to remember to carry my purse!  I plan to get two good days of exercise in to start February off on a good foot.  I'd like to do the 30 Day Shred in it's full in March.  We'll see.  Probably take at least 1 day off a week.

PS:  I love Minnesota weather this winter...(knock on wood that what I just said doesn't jinx us.)

Jan 6: 133.0        Jan 13:  133.0        Jan 20: 131.0      Jan 27: 133.8   Jan 31: 133.2

STGW (Jan31):  131   LTGW:  118-120 by April 27, toned

Didn't meet my goal, not surprised!  Bring on February.  I have something to work for.  3 weeks to make progress.

langey - i know, what an unbelievable mn winter, huh? bizarre! although, even as nice as its been, i haven't been outside much, but the spring like temps are a bit more motivating that below zero weather!

Stick with the Shred this next month and you will feel much better about yourself in a swimsuit and shorts in 26 days. It will tone you even if the weight doesn't drop as fast you like. Plus, the exercise alone will lift your spirits and energy level.

I try to plan out all my meals ahead of time and count up the calories for the day when I am at a computer. I try to leave a little leeway for that unplanned for snack should it happen. This way, you have a plan and you don't have to wonder how many calories you are eating.

Good luck in February - i KNOW you can do it!!

Jan 6: 158     Jan 13: 154    Jan 20: 158    Jan 27: 158     Jan 31: 158

I didn't meet my goal so I will keep at it for February.  I think I will shoot a little lower and see if that doesn't help motivate me.  Goal for February: 153.

Not too bad - I adjusted my goal up a little min-month, but managed to make the altered goal...  Looks like cutting the salt and sugars may have helped a bit at the end (since I haven't really worked out that much since my last weigh in - migraines).  Excited to see how the food changes AND exercise work together!

Looking forward to February and a whole new month of goals!

Final weigh in of January and I'm a bit off track but overall pretty pleased and so happy to have the support of all of you!!  Congrats for all you have acheived even if that was only tracking and trying.... keep it up and the results will come.

Allergy Remedies
Is It Possible to Go Natural?
The side effects of allergy medications keep some people from using them. Natural remedies can be a great alternative, but some are more effective than others.
