Welcome to the **October** Challenge!

If you’ve participated before, welcome back for another month! To all those who have not done this challenge (or any other) welcome aboard newcomers!
If you are new, please tag this thread so that you can find your way back in the future.

The challenge is pretty easy & does NOT require a long-term commitment. You pick a goal weight, and post your progress each week. You are NOT in competition with the other challengers—in fact, you are encouraged to cheer each other on. This is about having a reason to stay motivated throughout the month’s weight loss journey and having a place to post your progress to help you stay on track--some "extra" accountability for your actions because you know you aren't the only one who will "see" the results.

We'll have 4 weekly weigh-ins in October plus the start. Our weekly weigh-in dates are October 8, 15, 22, and 29, 2009 for final weigh in.

Weigh-in days are changed to Thursday coinciding with the first of the month. If you want to change the day, please let me know. If you weigh a different day for some specific reason, do so, but please report it on Thursday for statistical purposes of this thread. Thanks.

Normally, spreadsheet results will be posted by within 24 hours after weigh in date and will appear as a link at the bottom of this page.

I'd really love to do this because i need to keep up my motivation and i love group support.  I've lost almost forty pounds so far, with a little over ten more to go.  I'm hoping this pushes me to reaching my final goal even sooner.

I'm in!  I'm new here but already making progress.  My starting weight as of this past Sat was 200lb.  I have only seen that number once before...the day I delivered by first son.  I never want to see it again!  Ultimate goal is around 140lb.  I'd like to be down to 185lb by the end of October.  We will see what I weigh on Thursday!

I have lost 30lbs since the end of Feb this year after I was diagnosed with PCOS and put on medication to stabilise my blood sugar levels. My final goal is a lean and toned size 12UK jeans, whatever weight that will be!
