It will also help with maintaining once you reach your goal weight  if you have already gotten used to keeping a stable and healthy relationship with food and exercise.

You have had an impressive loss this month.
You had set a heafty goal, so don't stress if you can't reach it.
You're still doing very well.

Future_tadddei - Excellent, well done.
You still very well might get there so keep up that great work and you can do it!

Bobev - Good to see you're down 1.2 pounds since last week, good job.
It must be frustrating dealing with all the fluid retention but as long as you don't give up, it's ok!
Stick to it and you'll get there in the end, and I'm sure you know.

Nygirl22 - It is probably because you've lost so much so far.
It isn't surprising that your body might want a little break this week.
If your body wants to take it slow and you don't reach your goal this month, it is ok.
You can always sign up for next month as I will surely be setting up another challenge!

Gribbish - That is ok, it takes time sometimes.
Stick to the plan, keep your cals down and your exercise up and you'll do great!

Rbaldwin - Well done, you're doing good so far!

Changling - That is ok, as I've said to many people, maintaining is better than gaining so keep your chin up.
You just have to keep on chipping away at it!

""Sigh""  Well no change from last week, but at least I'm holding and not gaining.  I was in a funk the last 3 weeks, but just a couple of days ago I was able to get myself motivated again.  Hasn't been enough time to see the results of my efforts yet.  I hope next week will have a positive (oops I mean negative) effect!

So I dropped my daily caloric intake by 100 calories per day (now ranging from 1400-1800 cals/day, zig zagging) and it's apparently working really well!

22/10/08:  178.8 - I had emergency surgery Tuesday.  Cry
29/10/08:

Total weight loss:  4.8  I was in excruciating pain Sunday and spent the day in ER, went for a surgical consult Monday (weighing 176.0), and had my left ovary, left fallopian tube, and a softball sized cyst removed Tuesday.  Ate next to nothing for 3 days, received 2 bags of IV fluid, no gym in 7 days, and now it's TTOM.  Could that explain the GAIN??!!??  I weighed 176.0 on Monday!!  This week has been a nightmare!!

Thanks, girls!!  It was very scary.  I'm a little sore, but going STIR CRAZY!!!  I am not one to just "sit around."  I was so BORED yesterday, I stripped the bed, threw in some laundry, and whipped up some dishes.  Then was VERY sore all night...hubby was MAD!!!  Today I'm just laying around, which is driving me NUTS!!!  I think I'll grab a book and try to read.

OMG Cindi, glad to hear you are ok, forget the weight loss until your body heals.  Eat healthy and start out walking until you are totally healed.  Did they do it laproscopy with just the holes or did they have to cut you?  I had my left ovary and tube removed January, it was suspicous for cancer so they did the vertical belly slice ( lovey) and it took me almost 2 months to be able to do more than walking.  Best wishes for a healthy recovery!

I fell behind in my posting because I have been too busy to sign on line and post much.  Which also means falling behind on logging food and that makes it too easy to go over in calories for losing weight.  I must change this quickly

Collectively, we have now lost 129.35 pounds!

But lets see how much more we can lose and see how far we can exceed that! Wink

Are you ok? Well, now at least.
I bet that was an unpleasent surprise...
Perhaps you have some amount of fluid retenton from the IV?
Well in any case, take it easy.
Get out some good movies or tv series dvds and have a blobbing week of rest!
I know it can be really boring after awhile but the better the rest, the sooner you will get better.
So rest up!
And I hope you get better soon!

Halizabeth - You can change it, and you can change it right now.
Just muster up some of that great empowering motivation and you'll be off and running again.
Do you have basic caloric memory for your day to day items?
After a year of logging calories I've pretty much got the caloric content of my day to day foods sussed out in my mind.
If so, perhaps taking a notebook with you as your "busy food journal" would be a good idea?
As pulling a notebook out of your purse or bag and writing in it is a lot faster than finding a computer and spending 15-20 minutes logging various foods into a journal.
It might not give you the exact caloric intake of your day, but it would give you a rough idea at least!


Right only 5 more days till the final weigh!

Stay focused and keep those legs working and you'll reap the rewards.

It was done through laproscopy...three little incisions.  It's surprising how wickedly tender those little holes can be!!  I cannot imagine how PAINFUL the vertical belly slice was!!  Let me tell you, though, this is a piece of cake compared to the pain I was in Sunday before the surgery!!  In fact, my 56 hours of labor doesn't even compare to the pain I felt Sunday!!  WOW!!!  I'm grateful to be on the mend.  Thanks for your thoughtfulness!!

I'm going to be back in town on Nov 14 so no november challenge for me. I didn't weigh in today but I am counting Sat's weigh in as next Wed's.

 I cant believe that final weigh in is only two days away. Where did October go?? It just seemed to fly by for me.

Can't wait for the November challenge because this challenge and the exercise challenge really keep me focused and motivated.
